Well, the images didn't work. Location of the speakers is going to depend on your room, your seating area, and what you are trying to achieve. In general terms the speaker should be above ear level and slightly behind the listener, but that's just the 50K foot level of advice.Main System:
PreAmp: Rotel 1098 with MF X-10v3
Amp: Rotel 1090, 1075, 1070
Source: Pro-Ject RM9 with Blackbird Cart., Denon 2900 with MF X-DACv3
Speakers: Gallo Ref 3s (LR), Gallo Due (C, SR, SL), Gallo Micro (RR, RL)
Second System:
Receiver: H/K AVR 630
Source: Pioneer 563
Speakers: Polk RTi10s (LR), CSi5 (C), RTR 200 (SR, SL) -
thanks.
how do i get the pictures to work? so i can show u.
and another question. should i rather buy a new receiver or a good amplifier? -
This link should help you with speaker placement. Click here At least its a good place to start.
In general the tweeters should be at your listening position ear level. I would go for seperates if you have the money to do that, but there are plenty of good receivers to choose from.
As far as cables everyone is going to have a different opinion. Go to a good shop and demo some. Check the flea market here too there are a lot of cables that come up for sale here. My preferance is Kimber, but it can get expensive. Do you know how much you want to spend on cables? Which cables do you want to replace (interconnects, speaker, etc...)?L600 (front), R200 (rear), R200 (rear surround), L400 (center), Sunfire HRS-10 (2)Marantz AV7706Sunfire Cinema Grand, Marantz M8077, Music Hall Stealth, Ortofon bronze cartridge, Parasound Zphono XRM, Sony UBP-X800 -
thanks for the link. i will try to post my pics if i figure out how to do it, if anyone knows let me know.
what do you guys think about the yamaha Model: HTR-5890?
this is what i want my set up to be:
receiver?
Rti12's for front which will come later, lol
Csi5 for center
my sub isnt the best but it does the job
Fxi5's for rear -
As long as you don't use the 503 reciever . I usually don't even recommend that for the monitor series let alone RTI(nothing against you just my opinion). A buddy of mine has RTI 70s with an Onkyo 701 and sounds good... but some other guys on the forum will prolly tell you to stay away from onkyo. I personally think onkyo is great for the monitor and rti series but others may say otherwise. The onkyo 703 or 803 should do a great job.AVR: H/K AVR240
Fronts: Monitor 50s
Center: CSI3
surrounds: R15s
Sub:Velodyne DPS10
Dvd/Cd: Samsung HD upconverter (for now)
TV: 50" Sammy Plasma
game hardware: 360 and gcn.

A/V Receiver: YAMAHA RX-V657
DVD Player: YAMAHA DVD-S657
Main Towers: polkaudio® Monitor 50
Wiring: NeoTecH KS1007 OFC High Definition Speaker Cable ( 2 x 2.64 mm² ) -
thanks, the 503 is just temporary, lol. i only heard good things about onkyo so far. its just that i would get a great deal on the yamaha.
if anyone knows how to work the picture thing let me know.
thanks
