Dual center CSi3's??
Hello everyone...
Have a center channel problem hoping that I can rectify?
I currently have 2 RTi8's as my mains, 2 RTi8's as my rears, 2 RTi6's as my side surrounds, 2 single SVS PB12 Ultra's, and of course a Csi3 as my center. The problem is that all my other speakers are overkilling my center as I have NO room for a CSi5, but could fit 2 CSi3's side by side in my HT cabinet. Does this sound like an option, or will this kill my Pioneer 74TXVi in a 4ohm load? Appreciate the help....
Mike

Thanks Larry...
but it still doesn't seem to answer my question quit well, besides I just need to suck it up and just live with my single CSi3. Here are a couple pics of my current setup, you'll understand what I mean more? The cabinet isn't deep enough to accomidate a CSi5 which I'd like. -
Running the centers in series for a 16 ohm load will yield the same amount of output as your single center with more headroom for volume. Running 2 in parallel would yield 3 db more for the 2nd speaker plus 3 db for the 4 ohm load gain. If your receiver could handle the 4 ohm load, this option offers much more gain.
Few receivers really handle the 4 ohm loads well, but your mileage may vary.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

Thanks Dennis.... but now the question I'm concerned with is what I've been reading about "imaging, radiation and phase" problems with running two? This center is becoming a nightmare, just wish I had room for a darn CSi5!

You won't get any definitive answers regarding this until you try it yourself. Some would say that loading the center into a cabinet as you have causes more problems with the sound than adding a second.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

This shouldn't happen if your system is calibrated correctly. Did you use an SPL meter and setup disc?HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Yes, I used the Avia setup disc and RadioShack analog SPL meter I got from SVS. Seems like the center can't keep up with the rest of my speakers? I probably don't have something calibrated correctly as I am a rookie to this.... the receiver is quite over my head and I'm learning something new everyday, but to the best of my knowledge and according to the setup disc it's setup correctly.
