Anybody try this combo? Everybody tells me Krell's are too harsh, never had a chance, but I've also talked to a few people that suggest its a nice peice to rock out to for a couple years. And I like to rock out sometimes...

Lush, I have this combo on my second system. Harsh? nope. Here is my setup:

LSi15, Krell 400Xi, Rel Storm III, APL Hifi Pioneer-563 Mod (Universal player), MIT S3 Biwire Shotgun, MIT S3 Interconnect. Btw, the Krell is double down to 400w @4ohms. Sweet.

I tried pairing the Krell with Dodd Audio MLP, but, the hum of the combo killed the enjoyment, so I went back to just the Krell. This setup is just right, for the time being. Next improvement would be a pair of matching Cary matching pre power tubes. We'll see.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I have Krell KAV-400xi and the SACD Standard and they are not in a miljon years harsh!

The Polks are quit dark in its apperance and not so it would never be hard and difficult to live with. The problem with the krell is if you by it you probably whants to upgrade your speakers to a higher standard after a while:)

Remember that the stuff is just a tool to enjoy musik. The products are not the goal itself!
A simple system = Pure music!
