A girl's first rig...

I am putting together a rig for my 12 year old daughter's bedroom. So far I have gotten the following:
A NAD pre
A NAD amp
A Yamaha Tuna
A pair of CRS's
What I now need is a decent CD (nothing extravagant, but decent) and a cassette player (she asked for it, I don't know)
I'm starting to go over my self imposed budget, so I'd like to keep it under $200 for the both of them...
Whatcha got???

I've got several cassette decks. How about a Pioneer (black), dual cassette with meters? I bought it new probably 10-12 years ago, I bet it doesn't have 100 hours on it. No belts, all direct drive.
I'll even deguass/demag and clean it for ya.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -

Damn, she's even getting a DAT "SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

When I was twelve, I had a Fisher 'all in one'. I mean ALL IN ONE. Dual cassette (high speed dub baby), 33/45 table, am/fm, and 'tower' speakers, that had a 5" job with a whizzer cone - and nothing more.
Downstairs, it was poppa's Magnavox tube console. AM/FM stereo, and 33/45/78 LP's. Granted, I spend most of my time in front of the tube rig.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -
Man, I was getting my Sound Design on until the early 90's
I went in half with my brother for an Onk CD player/Denon integrated/Boston A100 rig that I never seemed to ever get to listen to.

when I was 12 I had to listen to the neighbor's radio.

At 12 years old it was a Garrard "all in one" for me baby, but it did have seperate speaks. Cut quite a few lawns to get it too."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

That's what we had, of course everything was tubes back then. If the "stereo" broke the repairman would come with this huge black case full of tubes and fix it. That was when the doctor would come to your house to fix you.
There was a a great smile on my fathers face when he heard the Polk SDA speakers in his sons "stereo" years later.polkaudio SRS (rdo194 x 8)

Nice set-up for the girl. Sounds like a boy magnet to me. She must really appreciate good music. At 12 I have a tourqoise Magnavox "suit case" style phongraph/radio. Lift up the hinged lid and inside you find a record changer and off to the side a manual radio tuner. Dual 5" whizzer cone speaker built into the front. Balance and Volume knobs on the front. Had to use those yellow plastic adapters snapped into the center of 45's to be able to play them. Wore my damn Kiss Alive and Destroyer albums out on that "fancy" needle.
