Also, Original pulled Pork BBQ sandwich from Famous Daves hits the spot pretty well too.

Hafta mention the famous Maid Rite sammich from Steve's Maid Rite down the street. MMmm...may get one for dinner tonight.

I'm so hungry from this thread I could eat my shoes

My favorite grilled cheese - pepper jack, fresh diced tomatoes (seeds removed) on sourdough, butter both sides of each slice of bread. Two of them in front of the TV ;)

My favorite is a huge vine-ripened tomatoe (from the garden) cut into thick slices with lettuce and mayo, on toasted bread. No meat, I know, but holy hell is it good!

You guys might think I'm nuts, but ever since I was a kid my dad would make toast and slather it with butter, heat up some leftover mashed potatoes, a little salt and pepper and man I tell ya - I was in heaven!!!!! go figure - a mashed potato sandwich ( or sammich in this case) something so simple never tasted so good!!!
Plus there are some other 'kooky' recipes that I get a craving for since I was weaned on them.........I think I'll start another thread about 'unusual' foods that we've come to love over the years - I'm sure EVERYONE has a story to tell!!!

Yup... but tough to get good Deli in Tejas... On the other hand Chicken Fried Steak's are plentiful.

Central Grocery's (just a block or so off of Jackson Square in Nor'leans)Muffaletta's also have to go near the top of a list. Washed down with a cold Jax of course..

Olive relish... who'd a thunk it...

My favorite sammich I get at this place in Mt. Laurel, NJ called the F&M Deli. It's a Monte Cristo but for the uninitiated, most blow it off as "just a Monte Cristo". Honestly, it is but the quality of the ingredients is second to none. It's ham, turkey, swiss cheese on a few slices of brea that are dipped in egg and fried like "French" toast. Only, this deli uses fresh baked challah bread for the bread. They cure thier own ham, the turkey is local and the Swiss cheese is imported. The sammich is stacked and warmed to melt the cheese. Then a few slices of grilled pineapple are placed on top and the whole thing is dusted with confectioners sugar. It's heaven on a plate and hands down the best sammich I have had anywhere! It costs 9 bucks but it's literally 2 pounds of food.

That same deli has also had veal parm sammiches that are out of this world, chicken cutlet sammiches that are to die for and they have even had filet mignon steak sammiches loaded with aged sharp provolone, long hots, broccli rabe and onions. That is a $15 sammich but it's out of this world. They also make a ruben and a hot pastrami that are as good as any I've ever had in New York. Oh, they also make a roast pork sammich with smoked, aged, sharp provolone, piled high with horseradish on a kaiser roll that just melts in your mouth! They will do a brisket sammich that you need to eat with a knife and fork 'cause it'll fall apart if you try to pick it up. They also have a prime rib special that is just divine!

    Yeah, I like that deli!
