Fixing warped DVD's

I decided to throw in a dvd yesterday to try out my new setup. So I pulled the dvd from my cd wallet. When it started to spin the disc I heard this horrible noise so I immediatly ejected the disc. I tried a different dvd from the case and it worked fine. Turns out about three-quarters of the dvd's are all warped. There are a couple in the middle of the case that didn't get affected but I guess this POS cd wallet has been keeping a slight curve on the dvd's for a while and now they're stuck that way.
My question.... Is there any way to get these dvd's back to being flat? They're just burned copies so I'm only loosing about $10 worth of discs but I'm really pissed off because it takes a while to make them. Right now I've got them sandwiched between two heavy books in hope that over time they'll flatten back out.
Thanks,
Michael

I think the book thing is the best answer-you could try a little heat but, I would be afraid toGod shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8

I could try the heat thing on some of the crappy ones. (ones I don't watch and can live with loosing) Only would be what would be the best way to heat them up while pressing them flat - paper books + hot oven don't mix well I was thinking the oven at a really low temp would work, but again scary. I don't like putting anything I don't plan to eat after in the oven, except for that one time I had to put my snowboard boots in the oven...

Try a clothes iron on low setting (no steam), press down on a test disc under a piece of cloth just enough to warm up the plastic and make it pliable, then put one of the discs under something heavy to cool. I've never had a reason to do something like this, but I suspect it will work.

I would suggest a hair dryer. I used to work as a lot attendant at a car dealership and that is what we would use to remove stickers from used cars. Gets hot but not to hot.

I never thought of using an iron. The hair dryer did pop into my head but since I don't have one I'll have to put that off until I can make it out to my mom's house
I'll go do some ironing and let ya know how it goes
Thanks for the help people. -
wash that SOB with soap!
hey it worked for my Metallica BLACK disc when I was 13. -
Are you guys kidding? Replace that thing and just be done with it. There's a fine line between cheap and frugal........it makes no sense to try and iron out a warped piece of plastic with a foil layer.........comment comment comment comment. bitchy.

I would just replace them except for the fact that it takes me about an hour and a half to make each dvd copy. Times that by 24 discs and it's a lot more time and money than ironing them out...
I just finished ironing the stack of dvd's and it looks like it works pretty well. Althought I wasn't able to get some of the completly flat they actually play now. I'll keep the stack in between the books for a while just to try and get them as flat as possible. -

!!WOW!! it take you an hour and a half to copy a disc
I can see why you would not want to have to do that again, what software are you using that it takes you that long. It takes me about 25min from start (ripping) to finish (burning)......... -
DVD Decrypter - 20 - 30 mins
DVD Shrink - ~40 mins
Nero to burn it - 15 mins
+ the time fiddling in between programs setting stuff up (like picking settings for dvd shrink)
My computer isn't super fast -
ahhh, thats not so bad, i remember back when cd burners first came out it took 20 min to rip and about 1:10 to burn! and that was just for a cd...
