It sure is a shame when a once well respected name goes down the tubes. Check the link and try to read the mammoth amount of specs on this near $10,000 Dr. Who prop piece :D . This has to be some kind of joke

I'd give anything to hear this thing perform. I can think of 10,000 better ways to spend $10,000 on audio and this isn't one of them.

All I can say is....

probably sounds decent, but not 10000 decent.

    remember, your paying for
    a) convenience of an all in one package
    b) flashy art deco looks that rich people just gobble up...."dude, look how cool my **** looks

definitly not the style of most the people on this board, who demand more actual audio performance for their dollar

I know....it's just I sold Nakamichi back in their heyday and have always felt the original generation stuff was good solid gear and in some instances great gear. This system is so far removed from the glory days of Nak and believe me it's still a nameplate that gets recognition. I'm sure it sounds decent in a HTiB type of way.....but for that kind of coin  . It just seems a shame/sham to exploit a once good name this way. But as always buyer be ware and if someone listens and thinks it's worth $10k and buys it who am I to argue.

I almost bought a Denon Integrated from Dakmart.....decided to wait. That nakamichi stuff sure is high dollar.
Nakamichi used to do car audio for Lexus but now it's Mark Levinson. Seems like the Levinson higher grade option stereo now is about 6-8 thousand.( I could be wrong)
Denon #2900, Denon stereo receiver, Conrad Johnson Sonographe 120 amp, Blue Jeans cables, and Klipsch RF-7's

Back in the mid-late 80's you could buy their best stuff (7 series) and the Polk SRS's for about the same coin.

    CA-7A-pre $2499 retail then
    PA-7A-amp $2199 retail then
    OMS-7A-cdp $1999 retail then
    CR-7A-tape $1999 retail then
Polk SRS $2000 retail then aprox ???

    grand total $10,696

Note: if I were your sales person I'd give it to you for $10k.

Just one channel of the above system would put the Nak soundspace system to shame and then some. :D

Oh well we all like to re-live our glory days. By todays standard the same $10,000 you would have spent on the Nak 7-series could get you even better electronics today. Ok...I feel better now :p .
