Guys, Im still speechless after that SRT demo! I have NEVER heard anything like that in my life! I would rather listen to those SRT's than a live performance!!

Not only was the stage extend way beyond the speakers but the instruments imaged 10 feet tall! I could sit in front of those things for hours and hours just re-listening to all my CD's.

I had absolutely no idea how much I was missing out on.

Now Im more anxious than my wife to get a house so I can get me some of these and properly power them!

Yeah! The SRT's. Those are the same thing as the SDA's arent they? I know those are home theater oriented but they have the same technology as the SDA's right?

Yes, they use the SDA effect.... properly, you might say ;)

I, too, have now been smitten by the SDA bug. The SRTs were my first experience w/ SDA effect... I think I picked the wrong place to start! :D

My wife's pissed. She's been on me for over a year to get a house and Ive not really cared about it. Funny it took a speaker to make me want a house!

I plan on it. My financial situation is possible going to be looking up quite a bit in the near future so I will be able to afford the proper gear!

I dont think Ill ever be in a position to buy $1000/ea speakers but a set of RTi8's or maybe even RTi10's (so far I seem to be quite partial to floorstanding speakers) along with proper amplification are a definite possibility. Something like that and I could definitely, once again, be into sitting at home in front of my stereo for hours listening to nothing but music.

I almost feel sorry for Al. The red group tried to get back into the SRT room at least a half dozen times, telling him we had not yet heard it. :D

The SRT's are discontinued, but Matt said he has something interesting in mind for the not too distant future. Start a savings account NOW and stay tuned....

Lucky for you buddy. the used SDA market might be in your future, once you're into a house. Depending on the model of SDA, they are affordable used. Someone here will help hook you up when the time comes.

I waited about two years for a pair of SDA SRS's to become available close enough to me... since I pretty much live in a audio black hole part of the US.

I too was very impressed with the SRT's. how can one not be? They are the ultimate system. They did music AND home theater extremely well. Seems like very few speakers out there can do both that well.

Right time. right place can get you some really nice SDAs for WELL UNDER a grand. You're welcome to make the drive up I-75 to hear what my pristine 1Cs (with upgraded tweeters) sound like to see what $500± can buy you. Mine are NOT for sale.

Don't overlook the SDA-2's, either in the A or B designation. Several pair have recently went really reasonable on eBay and Audiogon. I have a pair of 2A's that I bought new and I have always been really impressed with them. Sometimes I have thought they were a little smoother and more seamless than the 1B's and 1C's that I have listened to. You get the same SDA effect.

I started out with the SRS 1.2. Funny, I haven't really cared for another speaker since. The SRT system is nice but I still prefer the original SDA's. I actually sat around and listened to them almost all night with the new XM player. :D

Actually, what Matt said was that he had some SRTs in storage, and that he had a few things in mind for tweaking them in the next year (I forget exactly what he said he would be tweaking), but that he wouldn't commit to that timeframe or else we'd all want to hear them next year :)

I don't think he was implying that they would go on sale to the public, just that he had a few ideas that have come up in the past few years.

I knew that Matt was still thinking about SDA. I was just wondering if he was leaning towards HT or 2ch for its re-introduction. Although the Soundbar Speakers employs SDA technology, I would consider a product with less focus to be the return of SDA.

it's a SurroundBAR, not sound bar. and i didn't get the impression he was going to be reintroducing any other speakers with SDA technology. The SurroundBAR does use SDA surround sound.

I thought they might do a scaled down surroundbar or rm system for the new game consoles since sound is more important than ever on games.

Well, they used to have some 5.1 surround speakers for comps, didn't they? I know they produced speakers for HP for awhile (my uncle has a pair of Polk speakers on the sides of his HP monitor, they actually sound pretty good), and they had a couple of sets of smaller PC stuff (like was seen in the corner of the new "inwall room" on the Polk Tour).

Would be cool if they came out with something to compete against the Klipsch ProMedia systems. But I don't think that it needs to be like the SurroundBar in the SDA sense.
