Well, Wednesday will be the day I head off to Chicago in a 26' U-Haul with my car on a platform behind it.

If people had reason to fear with me behind them in just my car, wait till they experience me behind the wheel of a big truck..... :p

Ultimately, there was no reason to clean my apartment like I was tormenting over a few months ago, because it now looks worse than it did even then.

Tomorrow will be loading day to get everything outta the apartment and storage unit, and the trek begins on Wed morning.

I hope all my $hit fits.......lol.

I hate to tell you this, but those rental trucks have a road speed governor. Damn thing is a safety hazard. Maybe you'll get lucky like me when I drove one from Texas to CA. About halfway, the governor broke.......zoom zoom! :D

I don't know what your schedule is, but I have most of this weekend open and if you need some help getting unloaded, pm me and I will give you my cell#. After seeing the pictues of your apartment, packing up and moving to a new city probaby is easier than trying to clean it up. Whatever won't fit in the truck, call the salvation army to come and pick it up or shovel into a dumpster. It might even be worth losing you securty deposit just to leave it there for the lanlord to deal with. :D

So sad........people are mean to me even after all the kindness I've been spouting lately.......lol.

I'm about to start piling things in boxes just to get them ready for this whole thing......

DKG, thank you very much for the offer. I've got a friend of mine that's flying out here to drive with me and he's going to help unload and get me semi-situated. One of these days when the place is all put together I'll let y'all know. Have fun in the UK. I'd rather (at this point) do international traveling than the type that I'm always doing now.....oh well.

"Moving Week" That's worse than "Shark Week"

Got 14 moves under my belt in my ripe old age of 26. Which isn't too bad, I know people with more moves than years of age.

    Brett,

Good Luck with the drive, at least you don’t have to drive through a hurricane to get here. Welcome to the Midwest where the mosquitoes are as big as your fist. Actually since it’s been so dry they haven’t been a problem this year. I live in Rockford which about an hour or so from DT Chicago. Hope you enjoy it here. If you meet some **** please don’t judge us all by those people!! LOL.

That neighborhood ain't so bad since the United Center opened and the condos were built. You can wait in line for Oprah without being solicited by some gal lifting her skirt saying "Yo, baby."

Those speakers will probably find a perm home in Chicago.....I will be selling off a LOT of stuff once I get there......i'm almost nervous that the rest of my stuff is going to be a tight fit.......that's insane......

Yes, it's about 3 days driving, then another to unpack everything and then maybe a month or two to organize all that crap.

Well, I arrived in a little over 36 hours from leaving home to arriving in Chicago. I had all of maybe 2 days (the weekend) to semi-organize things, and now I get to go to Southern IL for the week on business.

I have things somewhat put together, but the staging process is a brutal one.

I dont' have internet yet from home, and won't until the weekend but will probably check from the road.

    Have fun y'all......
