Should I get the FXi5's???

Hi all. I currently have the RTi8's, CSi5 and f/x 300i's for surround speakers. I would like to go to a 7.1 setup and am thinking of getting the FXi5's. My question is, where should I put them? Should I put the FXi5's in the side surround locations and continue to use the f/x 300i's for the rear surrounds, or should I switch them up? Or do you think this a moot point? Just looking for opinions.
Thanks.
Thanks.

if you're happy with your 300's, keep those on the sides and put RTi4 or RTi6 as the surround backs. The FXi5's would be more timbre matched to your setup but I'm sure the 300's are close.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.
Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.
Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener. -
Thank you for the suggestion. I am worried, due to the seating area being rather close to the rear wall (about 3 feet), that direct radiating speakers will not work too well. Also in my room, it is much easier to mount speakers on the wall, then to find floor space to put a speaker stand on.

good point. I'd go with the FXi5's if I was that close as well.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

Thank you. So now the question becomes, do you put the FXi5's on the side or in the rear? And not to throw a wrench into things, but being as I would like to keep my f/x 300i's, do you see a big advantage using the FXi5's, or could I save some coin and just get the FXi3's?

If you are happy with the sound your current surrounds put out, you will be happy with the FXi 3's.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

I'd put the 5's beside you and put the 300's behind. There's a lot more information from channels 4 and 5 than in 6 and 7.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

I agree with Toxis. Put the 5's to the side and 300's as rear. The rears are more for fill. I have the 5's with RTi8's on the front and Csi5 for the center and love the setup. I looking for a single rear to make it a 6.1 system

Thanks for all the replies guys. I actually spent some time on the phone with Polk's Sales/Tech People and they convinced me to move my f/x 300i's to the Side Surrounds, and get RTi4's for the rear surrounds. On their recommendation, I went ahead and ordered the RTi4's. I will let you know the results when they get here.
