Ive heard nothing but good news about the SDAs but i wasnt that impressed. One of the mids in my left channel hits harder than the rest. That one mid makes makes a sound as if the surrounding were ripped, but it isnt. Their not in the best physical condition either. what can i do to restore these?

We need more info. Which model SDA, what gear are you driving them with and do you have the interconnect cable that runs between the speakers?

The cable enables the biggest difference for the SDA's from other speakers-get one ASAP.

Is one speaker labelled SDA1 and the other SDA2? If so, maybe you have a mismatched pair.

At the very least, something is very wrong. If you could splurge all the information you could come up with on the speakers, we can get to the bottom of this.

Is there any difference in the binding posts or interconnect cable plug in areas on the backs?

My initial thoughts are that someone replaced a driver with a different type. Reading the second, they may be 2 different speakers.

For restoration, F1 is the man with the answers, although some pics might help...

Without the cable, you aren't experiencing SDA.
Think of it as running your car less a couple sparkplugs.

Yeah... it kind of works... but, not really.

well if they don't work. and you don't want them anymore. sell them to me!! ;)

to post pictures.. make sure the file size of the picture isn't to large.. or else it won't post some times. Also.. for some reason I think IE works as the best brower to use. some other browers give problems. your milage may vary.

then when you go to post your message. attach a picture where it says Browse. click that link, find your picture on your computer and then hit submit reply.

if your pictures are to large. let me know. you can email them to me.. and i'll resize them for ya for free. :p

    good luck, Al

Click Post Reply, then click Browse next to Attach file. That will take you to My Documents, then select the picture you want. Type whatever you want to say and click Submit Reply. DO NOT click Preview Reply because you will lose the attachment. You can only attach one picture per post.

BTW, I'm sorry to tell you that if one says SDA 1 and the other says SDA 2 they do not go together.

Do you need a special camera. all ive got is a disposable kodak. My Father bought these new when he was in the military. The place that sold these to him didnt give him a matching pair.

whats the difference between SDA1 SDA2, can you send me a pic.

First you need to find out if the one is a SDA 1, SDA 1A, SDA 1B or SDA 1C. Then figure out if the other is a SDA 2, SDA 2A or SDA 2B. It would be much easier to have someone, like a friend, show you what you need to do to post pictures and it would be much easier for us if you post pics of the actual speakers.

I can't help any further without actual pics of your speakers. Take some pics, go the film shop and have the pics put on a disc, download it to your computer and we're good to go.

    ...about the mismatched SDAs but,
When i said disposable kodak i was being sarcastic

on your 7th post? That's cool. We don't mind helping when we can but please give us a while before you get sarcastic with us.

Besides most any picture from any camera will work even if it's not loaded to a disc. It's called "scanning".

    Oooops! I was being sarcastic.

One, why would anyone BUY a mismatched pair?

Two, if you HAD a mismatched pair, would you be terribly surprised that the sound from each channel is not equivalent?

And HE is getting sarcastic?

There was a pair of mismatched pair (x2) on EBay, another guy, recently on here was talking about his-mismatched pair, and now we have another guy talking about one...

I think these guys should chase the other down and work something out!

Sorry if i pissed anyone off by being sarcastis. Thanks for trying to help. There was no problem with the SDAs. I believe the reciever was to blame.

I hooked up my friends onkyo and the SDAs sounded great.

Does that mean you found/made a interconnect cable? If not, you still haven't heard what the SDA's can do.
