RT-7's as Fronts?
Ran across a deal: a pair of RT 7's in excellent condition for $150. I was wondering if these were any good. I havn't seen any of these for sale before: I'm not sure if it is because they sucked so one bought 'em or they rocked so no one wants to sell them. The numbers look great but that's the numbers. How do tehy sound overall.
I'm still really building my system... the 7's would serve as my fronts, sending my R-15's (see, budjet system) to the rear (replacing speakers canabalized from my HTiB).
How would these compare to the other speakers I was looking at:
Monitor 30
Monitor 40
RTi4
RTi6
I'm really unsure right now but they are $50 less than the M 30's (which aren't a quantum leap over my 15's).
Thanks guys.

Cant do better for that price, or prices far above it.
Would absolutely 'own' the speakers you mentioned...
Buy it!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
I still use a pair of RT-7's (my first Polks) for the fronts of my family room system. Center duty is performed by a CS400i and a pair of RT35i's bring up the rear. PSW450 doing the bass duty until I can talk the minister of finance, aka wife, into an HSU sub. For $150, yeah, I'd say you got a great deal. They are well regarded.
Enjoy them! -
They are very good speakers. I would take them any day over the "current" choices you have.
They held their own very well against my former LSi7's . I couldn't tell when I switched from speaker to speaker.
The RT7's will have a good amount of bass, since it has a 7 inch woofer. If you have not seen them in person, be prepared for a large bookshelf speaker.
They are well worth $150.Tschüss

I havn't bought them as of yet, but I'm glad they're not crap. Thanks guys. I think I'm gonna grab these if I still can...
EDIT
Just one thing... how is the overall sound quality with these? Is very similar to today's Polks or is it dull and muffled (the problem I've had listening to other brands of bookshelves)?"Nothing in this world is accomplished without passion."

Personally, I think the RT7 is the best RT, RTi, RTii or whatever speaker that Polk has put out.
Get 'em, you won't regret it.

Bad news to report: the guy is already commited to selling them. . Not much i could do: the deal had already been struck before I even found the listing. O well"Nothing in this world is accomplished without passion."
