Question about RTi70's...
What's your opinion regarding the highs? To me, high frequencies seem to be very laid back. Detail is pretty good, I think, but overall, the sound is fairly relaxed. The Athena's I had seemed to be the opposite, as the sound was always "in your face", and it's hard to get use to the RTi's again having had the Athena's for so long...

I promise not to reply with my opinion
All I can say...you can search it up, because I use to be...hmm...very forward about it...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

I had the Point 5 system. I thought they were pretty good speakers considering their size.

I run RTi70's for my main HT speakers, and I have found that with the right amplification they don't sound laid back at all. With a Yamaha receiver that is naturally warm sounding, they sound good. With an Outlaw M200 amplifier, they sound great, with pretty wide open highs. I have had them side-by-side with the RTi10's and a set of Spendor S5e's, and I would take the RTi70's for HT use over either of those two. Now for music, the Spendor's are really good when they work, but the build quality is really suspect, and the pair I am using is about ready to have every component except the cabinets replaced in the first two years. The owner of them is working with his dealer to get a new replacement pair as these have been a nightmare!DKG999

The tweeters used in the 70s are more subtle or laid back than the tri-laminates in Polks earlier versions. I prefer my RT55s over the 70s for music, but for HT use alone the 70s are about as good as I have found.
Just my .02,
