The R15's have ARRIVED!!!
Oh yes, the office will be rocking now! Sorry about the fuzzy pic... bad light and no focus.
They're being driven by a Luxman R-113 receiver (thanks Russman!) and they sound AWESOME. I don't know what the reviewers were smoking when they wrote that there was poor bass response, because for a computer system these things ROCK.
I'm sure they'd be equally at home backing a pair of R30's in an HT system.
And so it begins... these are the first new pair of Polk home audio speakers I've ever purchased, and they sure as hell won't be the last.

Flash makes all the damn difference, doesn't it?
Hard to believe they were taken with the same camera... In the initial pics I forgot I had it on Macro, which disables the flash.Ludicrous gibs! -
I got mine yesterday. I hooked them up to my 2 channel rig and sat down to take a listen. I had to do a double take to make sure that I had the R15's hooked up and not my main speakers, they really surprised me. Good highs, much better lows than I thought they would have. They obviously don't have the resolution and refinement of my main speakers but the R15's sound damn good for $50.Sony KDL-40V2500 HDTV, Rotel RSX-1067 Receiver, Sony BDP-S550 Blu-ray, Slim Devices Squeezebox, Polk RTi6, CSi3 & R15, DIY sub with Atlas 15

I'm telling you, my impressions of this first hour of listening are amazing. Now, I'm sitting at a normal arm's length away from the speakers, so obviously they sound great to me, but if you step across the room, you actually get more bass response than sitting this close to them.
Clarity is amazing, and the bass performance is really surprising me. I'm loving these speakers... a lot.Ludicrous gibs! -

I got mine yesterday but didn't get a chance to hook them up yet. I removed the woofer out of one to look inside. Looks to be a very quality build. No stuffing inside. I thought most bookshelves had a little stuffing?

I'll have to say that you _will_ like them. Getting some good listen time in today and they sound great. Bass response could be better for music, but, all the same, it really couldn't from a speakers this size. I remain impressed.
Last night was the first night that I would've rather been here at work than at home!Ludicrous gibs! -
Back em with a sub and enjoy, maybe even be amazed at what $50 will get you!

But compare them to the Monitor 30's and hear the improvement.
