Hi peeps ,

Well well well ... Tweeter.com is at it AGAIN with the (now famous) T90e's on sale for $350 pair and a (so-called) 15% off w/ coupon code: TWTRGIFT deal going now .
This deal was brought to my attention this morning by my brother who (and myself ) who were both duped into the BF sale and fiasco on the T90e's at $174.99 = PAIR . We all know how that turned out  .

OK , now on to the "new website deal" at Tweeter.com (and its possible flaws ) .
Start HERE at Tweeter.com front page .
Then go from there and add the T90e's to your cart for $350 PAIR (called CS today and they said sale prise was ongoing for $350 PAIR).
Then add the promo code for 15% off and your total should come to $297.49+tax (not too bad ; with another $50 off)
NOW , all seems to go well even on whole order process for the said price of below $300 (as Ive done this already) and it should look simular to this :

Thank You For Your Order Thank you for shopping at Tweeter. We appreciate your order. Please print out this receipt for your records. WHATS THIS ???? ...Polk audio is not included in this promo .... but my shopping cart shows its VALID on my order of a pair of T90e's (and shows a $15% discount of about $50). What happens if , as a customer you never "click" on the PROMOTIONAL DETAILS ?

Dang man ...what do I believe NOW , my shopping cart or the website info . Will I recieve my T90e's for $297.49 or $349.99 ???

Needless to say Iam putting Tweeter to the test once again and ordered a PAIR w/discount for $297.49

I still have a pair of T90e's sitting next to me from Tweeters BF sale for a price of $350 (what should have been 2 PAIRS) . If all goes well for my new order then I'll probably keep the PAIR for $300 , and the first order will be sent back . For $300 for a pair of nice Polkies (retail $650) , I'll be happy . If Tweeter decides to F*** me again .... HEADS WILL ROLL !!!

Sorry for the long rant , but I fiqured ALOT of Polk fans here would find this interesting due to the bs BF sale we all got screwed on .

*Note: I really dont want to give Tweeter.com ANY future buisness since BF, but this is more about the nice Polk speakers I'll receive/want ; more so then about Tweeter.com at the moment *

Keep ya posted ...... ;)

Maybe Tweeters selling all the returned speakers that they sent out 1 speaker for a pair of speakers.

I had to send my 1 speaker back today, I received the speaker by Fed Ex nice undamaged speaker. The return is by UPS can't wait to hear from Tweeter that they can't refund my Visa card since UPS damaged the speaker on the way back.

The reason Polk Audio is listed as excluded is because some of their items have a minimum pricing clause. I don't believe the Monitor series is affected.

I, too, have fallen prey to this bait-n-switch..and have ordered this pair, again! lol (btw, are we supposed to be getting email prompts from Tweeter to ship my single speaker back?). Even with only one speaker, I can tell this Monitor60 is a fine unit, and very worthy of $297 for the pair(if that is what Tweeter will actually supply them for). After bemoaning the vinyl vs veneer, and black vs. cherry, I've decided that these are something I'll get years of use out of, small footprint keeps the wife happy, and they're a significant upgrade from what I've got(don't even ask! ;) ). At least I can look upon this whole Tweeter fiasco as a free 'test', and an intro into real quality at a price I can tolerate. Woulda loved these at $175, tho! :p

Push pull tube amp, 8 wpc on the top posts - 75wpc sand dual mono on the bottom....

I'm about to remove my pantaloons.

Bose would prolly be an upgrade! :p

Actually, I 'stole' my current speakers from my wealthy stepfather, and have been using them for the past 25 years, and they're 30 years old! They're B&O S45's, from the 1975 Beomaster 1900 setup he was talked into in one o'dem fancy audio stores.

Thanks for the welcome, DisneyJoe7! :D

E-MAIL responce from Polk cs/tech support in requards to T90e's verses Monitor60's ...

    Jeff,
The T90e was sold overseas in our European market. This speaker is
identical to the Monitor 60. It has the same specifications as the
Monitor 60 regarding power handling, efficiency, and frequency response.

    Thanks,
    Kim

    Hi gents ,

Many Polk fans are interested in the T90e \"euro\" speaker onsale at
Tweeter.com . We all notice these are close/identical to the new
    Monitor60\'s .
Is there anty \"technical\" differences between these two speakers , as
there is no other information in requards to the T90e\'s besides the
    small owners manuel .
Any help in this requards would be ever so much appreciated .
Thank you , Jeff Richmond / ClubPolk member \"stereo55\"

Bill Kinsella (Polk's Director of Sales for the central US) was in the store today and I asked him about the T90EB's. He said he originally hadn't heard about the Tweeter purchase until he saw them in a store and made some phone calls. According to Bill, the T90EB's tweeter is an improvement over the Monitor 60. He also said it is a wood veneer instead of vinyl, because in Europe people basically won't buy speakers that aren't wood. So we have a little bit of conflicting information.

I was too embarassed to admit that my single speaker looked every bit wood veneer to me...with the only suspicious part was the grain seemed to wrap around the corners perfectly, like what could be expected from a vinyl covering. All in all, I had a tough time even with close inspection. Sadly, it's all reboxed for UPS tomorrow. I already miss it! :p
