LSI's magnetically shielded?

Yesterday I was tearing apart my room which ment taking my whole system out of my room. I put my lsi7's in front of the tv downstairs. After I went upstairs to get more audio equipment and then came back down I noticed the bottom corner of the tv was purple..... How come mine aren't shielded? Is this "feature" only applicable to the very newest models? It doesn't really make a difference since when I set my stereo back up they won't be close enough to my tv to do anything however I am a little curioius about this. Anyone run into the same problem or know more about it?


It says its shielded near the bottom -- LSI 7

    The 7's should definitely be shielded. Any chance a stray subwoofer got near the tv? :D

    Nope no sub downstairs at that time..... as soon as I moved the lsi7 away from the tv most of the purple went away. odd that mine should do that.....

    Mine do the same thing (unfortunately they also sit about 3" from my TV.) I called Polk about it and they said that it should not happen and if I want to I can send the drivers to polk for them to look at and they will fix it or send me a driver.

    For now I have decided to live with it since I would be without my LSi's for a number of weeks during that process. If any of you find out how to fix the issue, I would be most interested in hearing it.

    Well good to know that I'm not the only one with this problem and my speakers don't exactly have something in particular wrong with them. Thanks for the info.

    One time, at band camp.... anyway....

    I placed a couple of woofers (unknowingly) next to a computer moniter. Yep... the gaussian field **** up the monitor. The colors were all twisted.

    Anyway... I figured, what do I have to lose.

    So, I took the same woofer and very carefully re-aligned my computer monitor using the magnet on the back of the speaker.

    This was no easy task - at all. But, it sure was fun.
    In the end, I got it fixed just fine. But, I was scared to death (ok, I'm exaggerating)... but, anyway, it was spookie making the colors swirl as I moved the magnet around the computer screen.

    Ya I've seen people play around like that a few times (like smart people at school bring a magnet and have fun with a monitor) but no problems with the colour staying like that with my dads tv. If it does all you have to do is turn it off and on again and it re-alligns itself.
