While Miramax sat on their hands with HERO (starring Jet Li)

Zhang Yimou went ahead and made another action adventure epic..... House of Flying Daggers !

This should be another good one and this time it's handled from SONY PICTURES ! :D Take that Miramax !

This flick got a standing ovation at the Cannes film festival and has nothing but praise from Tarantino. Recently it's also played at the Toronto film festival with equal buzz.

Sony is already prepping this one for Academy Awards too!

This is just a teaser trailer but it puts a lot of other action flicks and their trailers to shame !

Coming this December !!

*Quicktime*-wait for the download

I wonder if "HoFD" will finally make Andy Lau a star beyond Asian audiences. He's also the star of "Internal Affairs", currently in a few US theaters. But the movie will be getting a Hollywood treatment (rumored to be produced by Plan B, the production house owned by Brad Pitt/Jennifer Aniston). Could this be good?

Andy Lau's a great actor....almost as good as Tony Leung from HERO ! ;) Hopefully not but it's likely he'll get little recogntion as Tony did in HERO. Both are awesome actors however.

The main spotlight will go to Zhang Ziyi though. She's got some high profile movies coming up such as "2046", Spielberg's "Memoirs of a Geisha" and of course Yimou's "HoFD". :D

BTW, with Sony handling this flick, can you say SUPERBIT!!

I'm tempted but I remember being a little disappointed for not being able to catch HERO on the big screen first. For me there are just some films that I have to see on the biggest screen possible.

Heck I'll even go out and watch HERO again on Imax if it was available !

The reviews for HoFD coming in have been very positive ! :D With expletives such as "stunning" , "eye-popping" and "masterpiece" coming from reputable reviewers- I'll wait for it come December !!

Oh yeah, after loaning my well watched dvd copy of HERO to friends - we're all in on catching HoFD at the cinema !

For now it's just the tricky matter of reading only spoiler free previews !

My 50" widescreen tv is not good enough ! ;)

Know what ya mean about crowds though but I've been lucky enough to go to one cineplex with a mature audience base. :)
