I have records of two pair selling on ebay $2125 (Michigan, May 04) and $2195 (California, March 04). Both were listed as mint with all the trimmings, and the second pair included original boxes. So the BIN price is not too far out of line.
One other listing was pulled with one $1800 bid in place due to "being no longer available"...
