Much better than badminton, table tennis, rythmic gymnastics, equestrian or syncronized swimming.

Yeah, I'm watching men's synchronized swimming right now. I can't believe that this is an olympic event, or that it's practiced by anyone, ever, for any reason whatsoever.

I also can't believe that I'm out of my chair and jumping up and down when I see a pair have a good dive. ;>} WTF is happening to me?

I will say from an HD standpoint, I was most impressed by the Greek parade and fireworks. The pool in the middle of the arena was a very nice touch and the Arena is awesome.

Beach volleyball?? Is that really a sport??

Badminton....now, that's a real sport. Believe me, when that shuttlecock is coming at you at over 130 mph, you will think different whether badminton is a real sport.

    Gimme a freakin' break!

When you have "Wilson" temporarily tatooed to your forehead from a ball that is at least 20 times more massive moving at 70mph, you'll have no doubt that beach volleyball is a real sport.

There's no way that a pro-badminton player could do the things that a pro-volleyball player can do, however, I have no doubt the pro-volleyball player could do what the pro-badminton player can do.

Well, I'd be willin' to bet that you're right that a pro-badminton player couldn't do everything a pro-volleyball player does. However, I'm also willin' to bet that a pro-volleyball player could NOT do everything a pro-badminton player can do.

    Badminton:

Dang, just did some research and some of those guys can hit the thing close to 200MPH!!! (According to ESPN)

Fortunately the thing slows down really quickly, but that sport is nuts. I play goalie in Hockey and have "seen" 100+MPH shots and there is no way to consciously react to them... Badminton was so easy in the back yard....

Badminton is one the world's fastest racket sports, requiring
quick reflexes and superb conditioning. In a badminton smash,
the shuttlecock has been timed at speeds over 200 m.p.h. in top
    international competition.

From www.worldbadminton.com. Hmmm, that 130 mph shuttlecock now sounds mighty slow.

You know, I have seen top male tennis players serve aces at approximately 150 mph and the other guy just stand there as the ball blows by.

    From ESPN.

and, the court in badminton (I think) is much smaller than the volleyball, umm, court (?) or the tennis court. Much less time to react. Quite hard to leap 5 feet over and 3 feet back to return a 150+mph smash. Man, it's quite hard to return one hit right at ya!!

My point exactly. Like I said, you have a 2ft. long racquet to help reach farther and hit harder and you're not running and moving and reacting in high-ankle deep sand on a significantly bigger court and hitting over an 8ft. net.

I bet those badminton guys really like the A/C in those gyms too. As opposed to say, 97degF and 70% humidity at Clearwater, FL.

I have heard that if you place a shuttlecock on top of your CD player, it opens up the soundstage dramatically.
