Seller's remorse?

I've always sort of got a chuckle how the Brits always were sort of torqued that the DQ-10 looked like the Quads. IMO, the Quad ESL-63, especially the later versions are one of the best deals in used audio, assuming that you like electrostats.

Troy,
You're right, although the Quads have had a relatively recent revival, in popularity, among American audiophiles. There's a company, somewhere, that re-furbs them and maybe does some power supply modification to them. Matthew's mentioned that he's a fan of them, also. Extremely neutral mid range performance!

I've seen the ads for them on Audiogon....you figure around 2 grand for what amounts to a brand new Quad 57 ESL, hell, you can't touch an entry level Martin Logan for that.
The ESL 63's have gone up on the used market but can still be had betweent 1200-1500 on average. I've never heard the 57's but a local Charleston dealer had a pair of the 63's he took in trade and they are nothing short of magic in the midrange. Not much in the bass department nor would it play at rock concert levels but I definately see why people love them so....
Also on my short list of must own speakers...
