Elon Musk bought 1255 ventilators from China and shipped to the US. These were excess inventory/oversupply. These are FDA approved ResMed, Philips and Medtronic ventilators. He had purchased these Friday night and had air shipped to LA.

    Thank you Mr. Musk.
2 channel: Anthem 225 Integrated amp; Parasound Ztuner; TechnicsTT SL1350; Vincent PHO-8 phono pre; Marantz CD6005 spinner; Polk SDA2BTL's; LAT International speaker cables, ZU Mission IC's and power cables all into a PS Audio Dectet Power center.

Other; S60'S, M10 series II, M7C's, Hafler XL600 amp, RB-980BX, Parasound HCA-1500 amp , P5 preamp, all in storage. All vintage Polk have had crossover rebuilds and tweeter upgrades.

In the preliminary 6 p.m. data from the Florida Department of Health, Polk County remained at 13 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus — 6 in Davenport. Six cities in Polk have confirmed positive tests. The total cases in the state jumped up to 1,227 — 1,147 for Florida residents, 80 for non-residents. Deaths statewide leaped from 14 to 18.

For those stuck in Florida wondering if they should go back home or wait it out a few more weeks. If you wanted to compare to Italy, Florida is probably your best shot. Many old people, and little enforcement as far as shutting things down or limiting movement. I think the states population is around 20 million, and they are still under 20 deaths for the whole state.

That's a darn good number considering all the variables. If I was stuck there, I'd stay, but also stay away from any beach brats. :)

so why couldn't normal sources get these?
Is China holding up shipments? Is there some other
red tape reason these weren't available?
You'd think in a worldwide pandemic these would of
    been shipped somewhere already?
Why is there "excess inventory" of any medical supply right now?

I am so friggen angry right now....

Pharmacy "X", my wife's employer, told them today they will not be providing masks, sanitizer or other supplies to wipe down their pharmacies during this outbreak. They had the balls to tell them they are not considered front-line medical professionals and their risk of exposure is minimal. She sees 400 patients a day and administers 50 plus vaccines in a 9 hour day. How is this not considered front-line?

In her district, two Doctors of Pharmacy are down, along with several technicians, and one store has been reduced to drive through only. My wife happens to be trained in immunology and infectious diseases, and they treat her like garbage when she should be the one helping them formulate a plan to keep their people safe.

Their response??? If you don't feel safe, you can go home.

Happening in a lot of places John. She should go home, no job is worth your life. It really pisses me off that these companies can't supply the basic PPE in a crisis. Where's OSHA ? Another useless government agency that clams up when they should be pressuring companies. Their main gig is safety and PPE. in the workplace. If I can still buy gloves at least from Amazon, so can they.

I am tired of people using the “living in fear” phrase for people who are trying to be responsible......EVEN IF you don’t agree with stay at home orders or shuttering businesses, what’s the alternative to stop the spread. We have proven as a society to be selfish and self absorbed (look at the beaches and bars and other large gathering spots when it was “recommended”). Had that not been the case, MAYBE things would have been different. But we prove time and time again that we either 1. Don’t respect authority 2. Don’t respect each other 3. Don’t respect “expert recommendations” enough......

What’s your definition of not “living in fear”? Define that - I bet EVERYONE a can agree that we all agree on 90% of those things. If your premise is not to shut businesses, not to close restaurants and bars, etc let’s hear what you have to offer as alternatives for a historically non compliant population.

That's basically instilling fear Joey because you have no factual reason for those numbers. This is basically a guess, where as the flu has solid stats for years and years.

480,000 DEATHS ?? We haven't hit 1000 yet and it's been here for months. Oh wait, the worse is yet to come right, next 2 months ? April and May is typically when a flu virus is on the downswing, not upswing. You should know this. Fear mongering is doing a disservice to your profession. No offense meant, but C'mon man.

First Medical Personnel Died in GA from COVID-19

    From the AJC:
Two Georgia health care workers died late last week after contracting the novel coronavirus, apparently the state’s first medical personnel claimed by the pandemic.

    48 years old
A 48-year-old woman who worked at Donalsonville Hospital in southwestern Georgia tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, and died Thursday at a hospital in Tallahassee, Florida.

    42 years old
The same day, a mammogram technician at Piedmont Newnan Hospital was found dead in her Coweta County home. Laboratory tests confirmed the woman had COVID-19, Coweta County Coroner Richard Hawk said.

The woman, 42, had been dead 12 to 16 hours when the police, checking on her welfare, discovered her body, Hawk said. Her child, apparently 4 or 5 years old, was in the home at the time.

Nope, sorry. Estimates are based on hard facts/numbers and trends leading up to that point. "Best Guess" means they don't have enough hard facts/numbers to extrapolate an estimate accurately. No where near the same thing.

I really have no issue with the quarantining going on currently. I do wish it was more widespread nationwide so we can get over this hump quicker. States trickling in here and there with limited enforcement is just going to prolong this thing. Now we got Congress playing politics with unrelated issues instead of passing legislation that will keep our economy from collapsing until we get on the downhill side of this thing. Sad, and we're all gonna pay for it.

Have you guys heard of a “hypothesis”? It’s pretty much the basis for every imaginable scientific study. It is defined as “a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation.” Those hypotheses are either supported by literature and research or not. ONLY TIME will tell.

In other words, a “best guess” by experts. Not by some internet audio forum pundits and quotes from politically biased (one way or the other) online “periodicals”.

So why did the chicken cross the road?

SARAH PALIN: The chicken crossed the road because, gosh-darn it, he's a maverick!

BARACK OBAMA: Let me be perfectly clear, if the chickens like their eggs they can keep their eggs. No chicken will be required to cross the road to surrender her eggs. Period.

JOHN McCAIN: My friends, the chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON: What difference at this point does it make why the chicken crossed the road?

GEORGE W. BUSH: We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either with us or against us. There is no middle ground here.

    DICK CHENEY: Where's my gun?

BILL CLINTON: I did not cross the road with that chicken.

AL GORE: I invented the chicken.... and the road.

JOHN KERRY: Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken's intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it.

AL SHARPTON: Why are all the chickens white?

DR. PHIL: The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on this side of the road before it goes after the problem on the other side of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he is acting by not taking on his current problems before adding any new problems.

OPRAH: Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross the road so badly. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a NEW CAR so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.

ANDERSON COOPER: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.

NANCY GRACE: That chicken crossed the road because he's guilty! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.

PAT BUCHANAN: To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.

MARTHA STEWART: No one called me to warn me which way the chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.

DR SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die in the rain, alone.

GRANDPA: In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough for us.

DONALD TRUMP: We should build a wall so the chicken can't cross the road.

BARBARA WALTERS: Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heartwarming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its lifelong dream of crossing the road.

ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

BILL GATES: I have just released eChicken2014, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents and balance your checkbook. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken2014. This new platform is much more stable and will never reboot.

ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?

COLONEL SANDERS: Did I miss one?

    Tom

I loved them all :D except the Trump one. Fake news!
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
