You're supposed to be staying at home. Especially since you're high risk.

WTF is wrong with you? Do you want to die?

I had to drop off my tax data, so it was a necessary trip. Other than giving the info to the person behind the counter I dealt with no one. The government needs all the money they can get since they will be soon giving it all away. :)

BTW, that 60 billion is the airline industry as a whole and again in case you didn't understand my previous post, conventional financing is if you don't like the terms and conditions that come with the bailout.

    We tried this once...
Wells Fargo didn't want a dime of bailout money. They were forced to take it. They paid it back as fast as they were allowed to by the government.

Ford didn't want auto-maker bailout money. They were also forced to take it.

I am a firm believer in sink or swim. But I also believe corporations should be allowed to make their own decisions to take or leave any type of bailout funds. If they fail because they refused, so be it...

Ford didn't take TARP program money like GM and Chrysler, but did tap a different pool of goverment back loans IIRC.

Not sure about the crooks at Wells Fargo.

Wells Fargo is now trying to recover from their shady business practices of the last few years. They are recovering, but still have issues. I can’t make up my mind if I should close my account, and go with B of A.

‘But analysts also see a link to Wells Fargo's infamous legal troubles. The bank's litigation expenses more than tripled to $3.3 billion last quarter. The legal costs stem from the bank's fake-account debacle, investigations into pre-crisis mortgages and "other consumer-related matters."

Those mounting expenses have unnerved Wall Street. The bank plans to cut $2 billion in expenses this year and another $2 billion in 2019.’

Agreed, but a law is only good if there is consequences to breaking it. You can pass a law to restock those supplies, and any president can just ignore it, or any congress. So what good is the law, unless it has some teeth for those who don't follow it.

Another note, Health and Human services is in charge of oversight it looks like. WTF have they been doing the past 10 years ? Another worthless government agency.

Yeah good points but I wasn't thinking so much regarding a punsishment in the future, but rather a system in place so that many eyes are upon this important issue and it cannot be easily allowed to slip through the cracks again. That way it would be no easier to ignore than the strategic oil reserves stockpile.

Shady indeed....same issue with Boeing....the 737 max debacle could be their undoing, although I dont think we want to rely on Airbus as the sole provider of trunk aircraft in the world. There does seem to be a surplus of banks in the world though.

You should write for Mad magazine. :)

In case you weren't paying attention from the start, this whole mess revolved around supplies, or lack there of.

If most the stockpile was used up for swine flu, not replenished after 2 requests and 10 years go by, that's how we are at where we are at today.

Goes like this....virus starts taking hold, people showing up at hospitals, lack of supplies is voiced as a problem. We are then told we need to "bend the curve" to keep the virus from spreading and offering some relief for our healthcare system, it's people, and lack of supplies. In order to bend that curve, we are further asked to shelter in place, forcibly close businesses, tanking the economy.

......all because we never replenished our stockpile of medical supplies. Now, if you feel a need to make fun of someone, I might be inclined to start there.

I posted a chart a few days ago comparing the progression of COVID-19 in the U.S. compared to Italy. I've been updating the chart myself for the past three days.
    • The graphic charts days elapsed since the first day with at least 100 cases reported in each country.
    • Italy is gray, U.S. is light red.
    • Italy reached the milestone of 100+ on February 23.
    • U.S. reached the same milestone on March 2.
    • The chart is up to date as of day 21.
    • On day 21 the U.S. has the same case load as Italy on day 25.
    • The U.S. exceeded Italy's 26 day total earlier today (before the end of day 22). This, despite the fact that the U.S. has administered fewer tests than Italy, and tests are still in very short supply in many places.
Draw your own conclusions. Some of you see everything through a political and/or racist lens.

Tony, you keep quoting numbers when they’re actually not relevant at this time. Until we prove we can contain it and numbers stagnate or decline over a period of time do they really matter. And even then we may see waves. We may be dealing with this a year from now if we can’t contain it. And our numbers will rival any other country and sickness we have known. The trajectory is what matters right now and lowering the exposure. The surgeon general has been all over the news saying that the worst is yet to come......let’s let the numbers play out and see where this ends before we start quoting the numbers.

Yeah, Tony. Mathematics and statistical analysis may not be your strongest skill, perhaps, some of us can bill $835/hour for those skills.

Italy has tested far more than we have, so in percentage of people tested, we look far worse than Italy at this stage, and it's only the beginning of the outbreak.

What do you think charts represent, numbers.

Sure we can deal with this again in a year from now, and guess what will also come back, the flu. Were any of you worried about the flu last year ? It's killed way more than the CV, yet you all went about your business just fine.

Even if the worst comes, if you want to play worst case scenarios, 10 times more dead ? Whats your worst case ? Even at 10 times worse, it won't touch the flu.

How many die in traffic accidents each year ? 1.2 MILLION.......MILLION, any of you afraid to get in a car and travel somewhere ? You worried in the passenger seat ? Need meds to calm ya down ? 500, 1000, 5000 dead from corona is a spit in the bucket in comparison to everything else taking lives and suddenly everyone is losing their minds ?

In my best Sam Jackson voice.....Please bi tch.
