Still waiting for a single example of you helping someone with an audio related issue.
Keep waiting Jesse......I have met a lot of great people on this forum and benefitted from their knowledge and generosity - and not strictly related to audio. And vice versa. If I gave one single care about your validation, it would be a colossal waste of time and an exercise in futility.Shawn

Jesse, here’s some good advice. Go to bed. You’ve proven that your childish commentary on my posts offer NOTHING and that you’ve failed to respond to what I have said with any semblance of intelligence. What’s next? “I’m rubber, you’re glue.....?” Predictable as always
Rest well, you’ve learned enough lessons for one night. School is back in session tomorrow for you bud.
PS- good on Mercedes! That’s relevant!!!Shawn

For those arguing on this thread....
You have a choice: swallow some pride, refrain from replying, and allow some good discussion to continue on the thread. Or you can continue to argue, contributing nothing to this topic or this forum, and achieve some imagined achievement of winning that most don't care about.
Add something of value. -

Click on this morning and 82 new posts, wow. Too bad only about 30 are worth something. Those trying to inspire getting knocked down by the usual doom and gloomers.
How much more can we add or subtract from this conversation until it's all done with and we'll argue again over who was right/wrong. Maybe we should spend our time giving hope, and looking for a way to revitalize our economy minus the dependency on China. You know, those manufacturing jobs that are never coming back.
Which will win out in the end, common sense solutions or greed ? In my opinion....greed still wins long term.HT SYSTEM-

Whitehouse task force member Deborah Birx has best case scenario of 100-200K American deaths. This is if we do everything correctly.

I think all of the new projections obviously relate to the fact that social distancing is working. The hope is that the trajectory declines and that we continue to do things that "flatten the curve".Shawn

Actually it was 480,000 previously and that was bad enough, according to those slides presented to the AHA. Here's the latest:
US could see millions of coronavirus cases and 100,000 or more deaths, Fauci says
The nation's top infectious disease expert said Sunday that based on models, the United States could eventually see 100,000 or more deaths from the novel coronavirus, which has already claimed more than 2,000 American lives as cases surge across the US.
"Whenever the models come in, they give a worst-case scenario and a best-case scenario. Generally, the reality is somewhere in the middle. I've never seen a model of the diseases that I've dealt with where the worst case actually came out. They always overshoot," Dr. Anthony Fauci, a key member of the White House's coronavirus task force, told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."............................(see article for rest)

Wrong again.
No one said 20m deaths. Fact check yourself.
The deaths were 480,000 predicted compared to your flu of 34,000.
With social distancing and shut downs, maybe we can get to 100,000.
But it still isn’t worse than the flu.

Jesus H Christ Joey, many outlets were predicting tens of millions dead in the early stages.
https://www.technologyreview.com/s/615358/worst-case-coronavirus-scenario-214-million-americans-infected-17-million-dead/
That's just one. 50 MILLION WORLD WIDE was another thrown out number. They throw out these numbers as possible worse case scenarios to scare people. Rarely do they throw out best case scenarios though. They keep saying these crazy numbers but they are just guesses made with computer models. Which those same computer models worked out so well for climate change predictions too.
Nobody knows....nobody.

Mercedes F1 is helping out with ventilators.
Mercedes F1 to Make Breathing Aid:A breathing aid that can help keep coronavirus patients out of intensive care has been created in under a week.
University College London engineers worked with clinicians at UCLH and Mercedes Formula One to build the device, which delivers oxygen to the lungs without needing a ventilator.
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) devices are already used in hospitals but are in short supply.
China and Italy used them to help Covid-19 patients.
Ventilators:Meanwhile a consortium of UK industrial, technology and engineering businesses in the UK has come together to produce medical ventilators for the NHS.
The "VentilatorChallengeUK" consortium includes Airbus, BAE Systems, Ford, Rolls-Royce and Siemens.
Production is due to begin next week.Alea jacta est! -
Jesus H Christ Joey, many outlets were predicting tens of millions dead in the early stages.
https://www.technologyreview.com/s/615358/worst-case-coronavirus-scenario-214-million-americans-infected-17-million-dead/
From that article:According the Times, the CDC projected that 2.4 million to 21 million people in the US could end up in the hospital, overwhelming emergency wards and ICUs. The number of deaths in some models ranged from 200,000 to 1.7 million.
Regardless, the models did not change. The higher numbers would have meant doing nothing. We are doing a lot more than nothing now.Alea jacta est! -

You missed a decimal point there. Their worst case scenario ranged from 200,000 to 1.7 million. Bad enough but far from "tens of millions." They also said that those models were based on what would happen if no action was taken to slow the spread of the virus.
The good news is that the efforts that have been taken do seem to be effective in slowing the spread. But you are right "Nobody knows....nobody" we will never know if it would have been much worse or not much different. -

I've been saying this all along. When all is said and done it will probably be seen to be another way officials have s*cr*ew*ed the pooch on this:
The official recommendation in the United States (and other Western countries) that the public should not wear face masks was motivated by the need to save respirator masks for health care workers. There is no scientific support for the statement that masks worn by non-professionals are “not effective”. In contrary, in view of the stated goal to “flatten the curve”, any additional, however partial reduction of transmission would be welcome — even that afforded by the simple surgical masks or home-made (DIY) masks (which would not exacerbate the supply problem). The latest biological findings on SARS-Cov-2 viral entry into human tissue and sneeze/cough-droplet ballistics suggest that the major transmission mechanism is not via the fine aerosols but large droplets, and thus, warrant the wearing of surgical masks by everyone. ..........see article for the rest
