Saw these on Craigslist this morning...

...And the first thought that crossed my mind is Sammy Hagar :D

At first I thought they looked like Sony automotive woofers, but I don't believe they are?

I googled around and the closest thing I saw was on a site called Made in China. :|

Audiopipe has some, too -- but they're proudly emblazoned with the Audiopipe logo.
I think I've typically seen Audiopipe branded products for sale near the check out counter in truckstops :|

Yes, from my recollection the red Sony car subs all looked similar to that top one, having that type of surround and of course, having Sony Xplod prominantly on the cones.

Just one 'audiophile's' opinion, but I've always viewed it as bad when a loudspeaker, umm, Xplodes. Not a best practice.

    B)

Those poor, defenseless Buffalo CL Polks...

    :(

I'd love to take one of those "1200 Watt" drivers and and make it Xplode by feeding it with that much real RMS power!

That is a rather poor choice of names for it, for sure... :D

YT is rife with such videos.
    ... or so I've heard.
Not that I would ever invest my enviably superb intellectual bandwidth on such malarkey...

I'm sorry, but these scream "Baboon's Backside" at me. :D
    I did apologise first....

    They’re awfully similar to these.

    Sure that's not your Fleshlight.
2 channel: Anthem 225 Integrated amp; Parasound Ztuner; TechnicsTT SL1350; Vincent PHO-8 phono pre; Marantz CD6005 spinner; Polk SDA2BTL's; Cables ZU Mission IC's, SC and power cords, all into a PS Audio Dectet Power center.

All TV's sound enhanced by Polk Magnfi Mini's.

Other; S60'S, M10 series II, M7C's, Hafler XL600 amp, RB-980BX, Parasound HCA-1500 amp , P5 preamp, all in storage. All speakers have had crossover rebuilds, resulting in a small fortune invested in Sonicaps, and tweeter upgrades.

"malarkey" = another one of those words I chuckle when I see/hear. :D

It also reminds me of one of my favorite characters from Band Of Brothers:

    The late Seargant Donald Malarkey.
