You are such an AV hoe.... don't let a little thing like distance stop you. You have two weeks of shutdown to kill.

I'm debating the drive but I don't really need to spend the money and I don't really have a place to put it. It's been a while since I've tried 'justifying' a purchase.

I'm not sure you could do better for twice the price. Outside of some VERY minor changes, this is the same TV as my 940C without the side speakers. It's blacks are exceptional for LED but still don't come close to OLED. The overall experience is incredible though and getting an OLED at 75" isn't cheap even now.

It's an $8,000 TV that still competes with current models. I'd be surprised to find one for $2,500 much less $1,000. Even older flagship 65" TV's are still commanding four figures.

For one it is not an 8000.00 dollar tv. Retailed for 6499. And went on sale as low as 4399 when my sister got hers. But there it is 4 years old and used for a geezer. Go get it.

Wouldn't we all like to know! Still waiting for 77" OLED prices to come down some more. Well... $3700 for the LG is much cheaper than $9000 of not that long ago but still is a lot of cash. The Sony, I can only dream of....

I've had my 70" Sharp LED for awhile and have been watching new and used 75" LED prices getting close to striking distance. There's an XBR75X940E and UBP-X700 blue-ray listed in the local CL for $999 or best offer. I see XBR-75X850E & XBR-75X900F sets all the time listed in the $750 - $1500 range. I also ran across a defective XBR75X940E in the $500 range that caught my interest as something I might be able to repair! However it had a red vertical line which indicates a bad panel.....Oh well.

I look for broken sets and repair them. All of the four TV's in my home I've saved from landfills. Well, I take that back, my son hit the screen of his 43" with a drumstick so he ended up getting a new set for Christmas. What can you do? Teenagers....
