Its been a long healing process but I finally got my treble setting down to zero. I've been using +2 as a ween for the last couple months. I am embarassed to say what I had the treble set at before that. Last night when I temporarily set the treble to where I used to have it, it hurt my ears; I can't believe I used to actually listen to music like that. Well anyway, now I'm "zero'd out" and lovin it.

Regards,
PolkThug:)

Interesting, I listen to all of my music flat. I run analog style cables from my disc player into my reciever's discreet analog input, thus by-passing all signal processing and consequently, all tone controls as well. I find the sound of straight reproduced music to be more natural and easy on the ears. But to be honest, I only started listening to music like this last year when I added the SACD player to my system. But now, all music sounds just fine running straight, it seems to have enough sizzle and umph to suit me.

Deppends on the type of music that you listen to. I doubt any speakers could do Bone Thugs And Harmony justice without a sub.;)

haha, you should hear Bone in my car. Skull rattling.

Thanks Steve. When I start shaking, I go to the nearest music store and beat on the cymbals. You near Flagstaff at all? I'll be there in a month.

I've gotten to the point at work where I can usually tell if someone has effed with the treble controls (hey! not the knob kind, jerk!) when I walk by and the speakers are playing. It's hard to know if the system has Klipsch's though. They sound like the treble is +10 all the time.

    PolkThug,

As a yung'in, I used to have my treble knob cranked, plus, I would turn of Dolby Noise Reduction on my tape deck just so I could squeeze more treble out of my music.

However, like you, I have my treble and bass knobs set to "flat" at this point. But, the subwoofer/LFE is set to +2dB also.

    Can't get enough bass. :)
