Polk 7A With Peerless Tweeters and Stands - Sold

For sale, pair of Polk 7A speakers with Peerless tweeters. Pair of stands included. $125, cash and carry. (I'm on severe weight restriction right now so serious about the carry). Pickup only, Chicago area. Close to I55/I80 interchange. Joliet, Plainfield area. No boxes, won’t ship.

These were in my basement retro system. Downsizing, decluttering.

Some slight damage top left rear and top right rear corner and left top edge on one speaker. You can see it in pic #3, pic #5 and pic #7. Doesn't look that bad from front.

No cuts/tears in grills. (I should have dusted grills better). No broken grill buttons. One speaker missing stapled on serial number tag. Drivers not damaged.

These are stock speakers, no crossover/binding post mods. Still sound great.

Pair of speaker stands included. No idea what brand, but they look pretty nice. Stands have slight tilt, noticeable in pic #3 where I reversed one stand.

I am scompracer on ebay, 100% pos feedback, 404, 78 as seller. scompracer at Audiogon, 186 100%, and US Audio Mart.

I've always thought the goal of high-end audio was not to have your neighbors bang on the wall and say, 'Turn that darn music down' but to have your neighbors bang on the wall and say, 'Tell your friends to go home and you can practice later this week'.

You were going to drive up from Florida for these? I think the Monitor 7A's are excellent but I don't know that I'd swap out your SDA's for them.

Oh, I have family in Chicago who are coming here for thanksgiving. I would’ve had them pick them up and bring them. :)

    Thanks for the kind words!

I had bubble wrapped them and Brian brought moving blankets to wrap them in. Nice to see a caring community effort in getting the speakers to their new home. Thanks Brian and Don!

Don, did you try a woofer push before and after shorting jumper wire removed? It really works, kind of neat to feel the effect.

Yeah, once I got my head on straight and remembered what you had said. Lol. Got the chills yesterday and woke up fighting off something earlier today. 😑 that is a neat thing I wasn’t familiar with.
