Are Philips Fidelio X2/27's still having Quality Control problems?

I've been looking at getting a new pair of headphones for awhile now and the X2's is something I would love to get. But after reading recent reviews and forum posts, it sounded like they had a huge quality control problem after Philips sold their electronic department to Gibson. I've heard Philips has fixed this issue but I'm still not sure if people are receiving bad headphones now.

Have they fixed this issue? Did anyone recently buy a pair of X2's?
