Is it really just an MP3 player with a screen of a cassette playing? Am I missing something?afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

I think that’s a cool idea, albeit unusable and kinda strange. Would certainly look cool, but then I would be limited to mp3 files.

More silliness for the uninformed. If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

I like it BUT, from reading a thread not to long ago....MP3 sound isn't even up to cassette standards maybe or am I wrong? Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Given Win Burhoe's track record, I would imagine they sound pretty darned good.

oh, to the matter at hand -- note that the player skin for that thing allows one to
adjust the parameters so that it really does sound like a Radio Shack tape deck that you hacked into your 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger.

This will be on the 'Gone offered from Machina Dynamica at a list price of 1.1K with 3 years of positive glowing nothing but OUTSTANDING reviews before long.
Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -

The tonearm on my CD player keeps bouncing up and down. I think I need to replace the capstan and pinch roller. -
Almost the same designs.

Here are some more silent speakers.

And here is a hiss-less cassette tape.

Well -- you got me there; dunno about that; I suppose that with frictionless bearings, one could use the rotation of the earth to rewind a videocassette -- but it'd take a while. Especially with a T-160.
In the early days of DVDs, when rentals were a thing -- there was a brief flurry of DVD rewinder products on the marketplace.

Burhoe's modern loudspeakers are direct descendants of his 1970s EPI M201 and Epicure 20 loudspeakers -- which were very, very good.

It's also capable of playing flac files and also capable of playing internet radio & receiving FM. Kinda cool for something that's been re-purposed.
