I think I am going to sell my beloved Oak RTA15tls's. I have decided, with much personal debate, to change my system. These speakers are beautiful and sound wonderful. They are in aImost pefect condition with all original components. I will sell for $400.00 firm. I live in Nothern Virginia and will not ship. I will post photos if someone local is interested. This is like sending a child off to college, but at some point you have to let them go! I am asking what I paid for them, not including the 7 hour round trip to pick them up! Thanks, Jeff

I'm interested but will wait for the pictures. Any chance of meeting halfway ? MapQuest says that would be roughly a two hour drive for both of us with the mid point being somewhere in Delaware.

PW, Warlocks' speakers will be about as clean as they come. Not only that, the guy is a gentleman and a scholar - a PLEASURE to deal with.

    Cheers,

    RussMan,

God only knows why I'd want more speakers at this juncture but I guess there's always another place to put a pair.

BTW ... you don't happen to know where I could come by a pair of fx1000's do you ?

We could probably work something out. I want to be crystal clear on this sale. I don't want another 2B fiasco. If someone wants to pick them up, they get first dibs. If no one is interested in picking them up, then I will sell to the shortest drive. I will NOT ship these speakers. Thanks and I will keep you posted. I will post some photos later.

Russ would not ship the pair I purchased from him either and after getting them here I can see WHY NOT. You don't want to trust any shipping firm IMHO.

I'll leave my picking them up as an option at this juncture in order to satisfy your stated requirements and mull over the idea and other factors while waiting for the pix.

I'll throw in my .02, Jeff is a GREAT guy to do business with. No worries about the condition of the speakers. I'm STILL amazed by the condition of these AR-3a's

Thanks for the pix ... They look sweet enough to eat ... but I'm gonna pass as I can't use them in oak and if I had been paying attention to your original post I would have seen that they were. I must've skimmed the post in a hurry in order to get in line for having some additional classics.

I can't imagine you'll have trouble selling them, especially for your asking price.

Sorry for taking so long to get in touch with anyone, was building a shed this past weekend and never even cut the computer on. Would love to have them but my question is, what kind of power will it take to feed these puppies.

The more power the better. They are very efficient speakers. A decent high current amp will drive them. However, the more power the better they will perform. What are you using now? If you are interested, I also have an Adcom GFA555 (200 WPC). I can make a package deal. If you are in the area, I will let you try them before you purchase. PM me if interested. Thanks, Jeff

you really shouldn't use your speakers on their sides.. they sound better standing upright. :p

I just like being a smartass some days. ;)

Rob - Buy now, search for power later, it's a great deal, and he is a great guy. I will start looking for power options for you this week.

    Did these sell yet?

:( Too bad I don't live closer or I would have jumped on these. I saw a pair on eBay a month or two ago but didn't get to bid on them.

No they didn't. I will probably end up seliing them on Ebay. I thought there would be more interest locally. I just got a pair of monitor 12's and might try the 15tl's up front with the monitor 12's in the rear and compare to the 3000p's fronts and rti70's rears. I have way too many Polk speakers in the house! Thanks for the bump!

No problem. :) My "useful deed" for the day!

I have quite a few pair of speakers around here myself. No Polks in my house, but own at least five pair that have been in various cars over the years. Still the best I've heard. I had been buying a few Boston Acoustics speakers in the past couple of years, repairing them, and have a small pair of Small Advents that I'm working on rebuilding.

Always liked the Monitor 10s but, back in the late 70s, I could not quite afford those. My current main speakers were $20/pair more than the Monitor 7s but had a 10" woofer. (Grafyx SP10s...THAT dates a person!) Still like them (actually have two pair), but wanted to try something different. The Monitor 10s are close to what I have now, maybe a little too close, which is why something like the RTA15tl looked interesting. Also considered something in the SDA series but never cared for the "phasey" effect. (Too much of a two-channel purist in me, I guess. ;) ) Plus, I don't think my Carver amp would be compatible ("common ground" wise).

I'll keep lurking here, though, even if I can't buy 'em for now! Spare time is kind of...ummm...spare right now. ;)
