I currently have a Pioneer Spec 1 pre-amp, and a Spec 4 power-amp in a 2 channel audio system. This system drives at set of rears, and a set of fronts.

Anyone here try using 2 of these power amps to drive there speakers (1 power amp driving the pair of fronts and a 2nd power-amp driving the pair of rears)?

Thanks,
Ron

Also, other than the WOW factor, do you think I would really benifit at all from using 2 power-amps vs 1?

The Pioneer Spec 4 power-amp is rated 150w per channel

Its a little less load for each amp to drive, thats about the only benefit.

    Thanks Steve ...

I don't drive this 2 channel system that hard at all. So, maybe there would be no benifit with it.

In reality, I think I am just looking for a good excuse to buy another Spec 4 power-amp on E-Bay. Again, kind of just the WOW factor. I certainly have room for another amp in this rack.

They are beautiful amps. That's a fantastic setup you have! I love the old 70's Pioneer stuff. My first "'real" system was all Pioneer. I'll never forget how excited I was when I got my first 2 pieces, the SX-780 receiver and HPM-40 speakers. I think I listened to that thing all night....
