Lots of Power Outages still!
(About 140,000 Georgia residents remained without power Saturday morning)
On Thursday morning North Georgia was under a tropical storm warning from tropical storm Zeta which moved northeast after hitting the Mississippi coast.
About 3:00 AM Thursday, the winds and rain hit at my house in Marietta GA which is about 20 miles NW of Atlanta. For over an hour or two, the winds were 40 to 60+ miles per hour. I live over 300 miles from the Gulf coast. In the Atlanta area, there have been widespread power outages. My power went out at approximately 5:00 AM and but did come back on after 4:00 PM Thursday.
Saturday
Here is a map of the current outages in the immediate area as of 11:00 AM today. Note the yellow circle is where I live. As you can see there are more than 300 households still without power today just next to my street.

we awoke to another freakin' winter wonderland this morning. Kind of a bracing walk down to the main road to get our paper today
And, by this weekend, it's s'posed to be 60 (Fahrenheit, that is, for you in almost the whole rest of the world for whom water doesn't boil at the oh-so-convenient temperature of 212 degrees).

That had to have sucked! Sorry to have heard this. That storm brushed to the far-left side of us and we also still had STRONG winds.

It is in the 60s here in the SF Bay during the day, and the high 30s over night. I turned my amps on to heat the house during the day. Since I have solar the heat is free versus using the gas furnace.

our five day stretch of superb (warm & sunny!) November weather is now drawing to a close.
Mrs. H and I took pretty good advantage of the unexpected balmy weather to get a fair amount of deferred "getting ready for winter" outdoor chores finished, I am pleased to say (although, of course, less pleased to admit I/we had deferred 'em in the first place ).
