Small rooms, room treatments and SDA's?

I'm dealing with a small listening room (12x8) which seems a couple of feet narrower then I want it to be for my SDA's. I'd like to use my SDA CRS+ in there, but it breaks the "rules" on space that SDA's apparently like. And the room layout is such, that I have to put the speakers against the smaller wall. So, what I am wondering is if I could use room treatments to make up for the lack of room, so to speak.

Has anyone tried this? Has anyone done a decent SDA setup in a room of this size?

Otherwise, I could go back to my LSi9's, but even poorly setup, the SDA's seem to sound better.

Thanks in advance!

I have some 2a's in a 10x12 room along the long wall. I have 5 2x4 panels in there and I feel the ones at the first reflection point help extend the soundstage.

I agree with you that though the room is not ideal....they still sound good to me.

I have run crs+'s in a small room & enjoyed them alot. Even if ''breaking the rules-lol". I think you may find alot out there with placement issues & dont even know the "rules". Try your best & move them around some & find what makes you happy. Sometimes a couple of inches will make a big difference

I also had a room that I had to compromise set up for my sda's. A few years ago I bit the bullet and made some major changes so I can get the recommended placement. Like you my sda's sounded good and better than anything else I owned. But now with the correct placement they sound better than anything I've ever heard. I had a pair of speakers here that retailed for 14G's 10 years ago and the polks kicked their butt so badly it was laughable. Give those sda's the set up they need and they'll reward you like no other speaker.
