Hi guys, past couple of weeks I just got a nice bat tube amp but never bothered to post my impressions because of the haters. Well I was not going to tell anyone about these either but jeeeez I just opened the box of one of them and its smashed to bits on the front glass.

I really wanted to have these playing over this weekend as its so cold and there is nothing else to do but relax and listen to music. I cant believe the state of this amp and do not know what to do next as I really want these no matter what.

    New? Used? Macs shipped without the orginal boxes almost always end up with the glass smashed.

    No these have a wooden tray under them and they are in original boxes. I just opened the other box and there is no damage but its like near frozen so I wont be hooking it up for a little while.

    I love how I can ask a valid audio question I get 4 answers if I am lucky but when PFB posts he gets pages of replies. I'm sure we will be on page 30 by the end of the weekend.

    I'm beginning to wonder if PFB's UPS and FedEx drivers and his USPS carrier are all members of CP and just do all this "customer care" for our entertainment purposes.

    Only way to ship Mac amps is freight on a pallet. However, even UPS freight which my Mac amp was shipped from Audio Classics I caught the driver tying to roll the pallet end over end off the truck.

    Why are you making up lies and posting it to get other people to hate on me? F1 never busted anything and after a few pm's he continued to call me names and a liar.     Now that that is cleared up I can move on.

    Bob the Bat tube is just the plain old vk55 and not the se model thats a $1000 more. I was doing some fun side by side comparisons with the PrimaLuna premium tube mono's and the BAT never smashed them like I had hoped. The highs of the BAT are all there but the Primalunas have more sparkle but I think its the el34 sound compared to those god knows what big coke can tubes thats in the BAT. The BAT is darker though and has better bass so for some recording the are the preferred choice. I was going to do a thread on it but then I know the wolfs will smell blood and come after me so I have just been enjoying them and not sharing my thoughts.

    Guys I swap gear alot and I am becoming a true audio junkie so I sell stuff when bored with it and if thats a crime then slap the cuffs on me please. I have been into the 2 ch game only since April and going through different components to kill my curiosity is normal for a novice like myself.

    I will take some new pics just for this thread, I have taken pictures but in order to post them I have to shrink them down to under 512k

    What is incredible to me is the funds that you have to go through so much

    This is why McIntosh buys should be pickup only.
    I've seen too many smashed glass issues.
    I'm firmly convinced pallet delivery is the only way to insure
    carriers don't break the glass. And even then doesn't mean
    it won't happen. Give PFB a break on this one.
