You have a Adcom GFA 5500. You are or are not looking at a GFA 555? What other amps are you considering from CL? Also the guy with the SDA's is going to trade you his SDA's for your GFA 5500?
Do me a favor. Post the amps you are looking at and links to the CL ads for them. There is a slight chance I know one of the guys selling their Adcom, but I need to see the ads as I am lost (but thats not surprising to those that know me)
Sorry,
I am looking at the Carver tfm-35 or the Carver m 1.5...I currently have a 2 amps. 1. is the Adcom GFA 5500 and the other is a Adcom GFA 7500.
I am also looking at a set of sda srs 2's and the guy is considering a trade for my gfa 5500.. -

I would trasde the Adcom for the Polk SRS 2's in a hurry and then buy another amp if necessary. The SRS 2 is MUCH harder to come by. I know I'v been looking for a set for a few years now.If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!

I agree. Amps are much easier to come by, either locally, or off the web and are MUCH cheaper to ship if you have to."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Big disappointment. The guy with the srs2 wanted my monitor 10 stands and the adcom in trade....no way. So I said I wanted them for the price he has been advertising he texted me back saying he was not sure if he was selling them until he knew about another set of speakers he was looking at....flake. Should hAve know when he did not have an actual picture of the speakers in his cl ad....he has been cagy and difficult to deal with..... Just disappointed.

That sucks... but if you are set on SDA's stick around here... there MORE than enough Hoosiers to help you find the right set.
Also post a "Wanted" thread for what SDA's you want, what your willing to pay, and how far your willing to drive. Someone may either have some to sell you, or one of us may find you a pair close enough to snag."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." I have a Carver TFM 25 that worked great on my SDA1Bs before crossover mods, but now goes into protect mode if driven at anything more than background level. westmassguy, who did my mods, told me they are likely now around 3.5 ohms at some frequencies. I think it's just a little too much for the TFM 25, but my NAD 372 loves it, and really makes them shine. The 372 always was the better sounding of the two anyway, and 150wpc seems to drive them very well. Can't say anything about the Adcom, that's one I have never owned.

I tried to work a deal out with this clown about a month ago. I totally agree with your "cagy and difficult" comments about the seller. This guy is definitely not worth the trouble. -

I happen to know both sellers for the TFM-35 the M1.5. Both are a great guys and will do you right and will not screw you over. You can buy with confidence from either of them. -
