First Post - Looking for Speakers (RT55's and F/X500 or 1000)/Advice

I just joined the Polk Community here and as such this is my first post. I am looking for some speakers to match up with a CS1000P I had in storage. I just moved up to Brooklyn and have a top floor one bedroom apt, through floor, maybe 15' x 12' living room with a 92" projection screen (Epson 1080UB), and just picked up a Yamaha RX820 at Best Buy for $250 yesterday. Have some mix and match speakers currently (Infinity Overture 1's in front), CS1000P center, and some placeholder (****ty) Bose surrounds, with PSW505. I'm looking to go all Polk in the living room, so I was thinking RT55's up front and F/X300/500/1000's in the back. Does this sound like a nice voice matched set? Can the RT55's keep up with the CS1000P? And which surrounds should I go for out of those 3?
Since I'm new, I can't see any of the FS ads. Does anyone know if some of these speakers are available from members currently at reasonable prices?
Also, I've gotten complaints about the sub from the downstairs neighbors already. Anyone have any advice about dampening the sound that gets put out down there (carpet remnant perhaps?).
Thanks for any advice/tips (sorry if this is listed under the wrong heading, I'd be happy to move it if it needs to be recategorized). Happy New Year.

Welcome to Club Polk! I'm sure some of the folks will chime in on your speaker questions. Check out this site for sub isolation. Keeping in mind the 505 can get pretty boomy, highly doubtful you'll be able to completely rid your underneath neighbor of vibrations.

Thanks Tornado for the pointing me towards that sub platform, looks like exactly what I need and should help a bit with the neighbors (at least slightly I hope).

I have a pair of rt55's and fx300i's available. Mi live in Maryland so shipping shouldn't be too bad. Let me know if you're interested. The rt55's are some of the most versatile and in my opinion best performing speaker in their price range.Shawn

There's a good reason for that.

Craigslist searched will score your the speakers you want. I found earlier this year a CS400 and RT55 set brand new in the box and plastic, paid $125 for all 3. Have yet to unpack those three yet. keep searching, they are very good speakers and do pop up often.Home Theater: LG 60PB450; Pioneer Elite SC55; RT2000P; RT55P; CS400p; FX500; SVS PB12-Plus/2; PS3 360GB

The FX1000's sound very good, I do have the FX500's and they don't sound to far off from the FX1000's. A friend of mine has a set and cant hear much of a difference overall, and the 500's pop up more frequently and usually far cheaper. But if you find a set of 1000's cheap enough, go for it.Home Theater: LG 60PB450; Pioneer Elite SC55; RT2000P; RT55P; CS400p; FX500; SVS PB12-Plus/2; PS3 360GB

RT55 are beasts as front with a good sub. The RT 55's are some of the beefier bookshelves you will find, they almost qualify as floor standers. You cant go wrong with RT55's no matter what you intend to use them for. I say don't ask and risk getting anyone to sell on here without your having 100 posts, scour CL and ebay, you will find what you are looking for.Home Theater: LG 60PB450; Pioneer Elite SC55; RT2000P; RT55P; CS400p; FX500; SVS PB12-Plus/2; PS3 360GB

Hey, sell me your CS1000P and pick up the complete RT5000 set + a Carver amp and a Denon that you won't need. Looks to be about 2-3 hrs away? http://westernmass.craigslist.org/ele/4235361615.html
In an upper unit, you won't need a sub with the RT5000 set. Even with the RT3000p bass modules on sound isolators(As I had to do in our suspended floor ranch home) you are going to piss off the lower tenants. The set delivers the goods playing back a TrueHD Blu-Ray.2.2 Office Setup | LG 29UB55 21:9 UltraWide | HP Probook 630 G8 | Dell Latitude | Cabasse Stream Amp 100 | Boston Acoustics VS 240 | AUDIORAX Desk Stands | Mirage Omni S8 sub1 | Mirage Omni S8 Sub2 -
Try to grab the 1000's if you can. The RT3000's are great but just make the assumption that you will be repairing both subwoofer amps before too long because the caps are notorious for failing. RT55's would also do well for you. Whether you get the 3000's or the 55's, I would also buy a sub. The 3000's will do LFE but don't sound good for music playback when configured for LFE. Better to configure them for musicality and add the separate sub for LFE.
....actually, on second thought, just go ahead and get yourself a good set of SDA's and be done with it. I enjoyed the RT3000's when I had them but now that I own SDA's I wouldn't go back, even for home theater. You can use the CS1000P with SDA's.____________________________________________________________

RT55's are beasts. I will likely never sell my pair no matter how much I upgrade. Perhaps they will be handed down one day to one of my kids (single kid right now).Main Surround -

I have a black set of polk rt 3000p's that are in a really good condition and are a perfect match for the cs1000p's. This is just the top portions with the 2 6.5" midrange and a tweeter. The amps need to be repaired on the powered subs therefore they are not for sale.

If you are willing to sell the tops have you considered parting out the RT3000 bottoms? I know someone that needs 2 good sub drivers.Home Theater: LG 60PB450; Pioneer Elite SC55; RT2000P; RT55P; CS400p; FX500; SVS PB12-Plus/2; PS3 360GB

I have a total of 12 woofers from 3 sets of rt3000ps and I'm willing to sell up to 4 of the working MW8500 subwoofers. They are all fully tested. 4 of the amplifiers have that humm sound and need to be repaired:/
