In Apple products.
Typing this on my new 13" Macbook Pro Retina. So far it's a great machine.
It's replacing a 6 year old HP 17" laptop that has been on it's way out for some time now. I really needed something much smaller and lighter with good battery life so that I can lug it around.
I really like the all flash design, lighting fast. Boot up time is almost nonexistent and it wakes up from sleep mode instantly. The display is beautiful. Getting used to the Apple mouse pad, still strange but it's a very slick design and I can't believe how great it works.
I'm liking how it so easily incorporates my 4S and iPad.
Still have to get used to this new OS. Fairly familiar with it from my phone and iPad but still strange.
So far no negatives...
How do you guys like your MacBooks?

You have to baby these things. Can't be a 15 year old lugging it around. My daughter's lost its back light in year and a half, and I also believe that the Hard Drive crashed...something that ALMOST NEVER happened on OLDER MACS!
The reliability of new Macs leaves something to be desired. A colleague's H Drive also went down in less than one year, and the repair costs are almost as much as my current Lenovo costs? Of course his MAC is still under coverage. Thank you MAC!
Higher pricing, reliability now rivaling Microsoft products! What's not to like. It's Apple and they HATE competition! And LOVE those margins!

Ubuntu Linux and Android here. I keep Windows dual booted "just in case" but the "just in case" never seems to happen.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

The only downfall in the Apple world is the high cost of entry. Congrats on great gear!

Congratulations! Great decision, and make sure you purchase AppleCare. Things do go wrong, and Apple takes good care of you when they do.
I've been "all in" with Macs for 15 years or so -- half a dozen or so desktops and at least that many MacBook Pros for my two daughters, wife and myself.
My two daughters and I are all on our second MacBook Pros and my wife is on her first. We have had some problems, but have never had Apple balk at fixing -- or even replacing -- faulty computers for free under AppleCare. My older daughter's MacBook Pro literally failed with about two months left on the three-years-long AppleCare extended warranty. Apple gave her a new MacBook Pro (latest and greatest at the time) along with a free new AppleCare extended warranty. Unbelievable!
Did I mention that we have too many iPod's, iPads, and iPhones for me to count!
Apple products cost a bit more, but I wouldn't purchase any other machine. By the way, I used NeXT, HP and Toshiba products before switching to Apple, and I've never looked back.Family Room, Innuos Statement streamer (Roon Core) with Morrow Audio USB cable to McIntosh MC 2700 pre with DC2 Digital Audio Module; AQ Sky XLRs to CAT 600.2 dualmono amp, Morrow Elite Speaker Cables to NOLA Baby Grand Reference Gold 3 speakers. Power source for all components: Silver Circle Audio Pure Power One with dedicated 20 amp circuit to main panel.
Exercise Room, Innuos Streamer via Cat 6 cable connection to PS Audio PerfectWave MkII DAC w/Bridge II, AQ King Cobra RCAs to Perreaux PMF3150 amp (fully restored and upgraded by Jeffrey Jackson, Precision Audio Labs), Supra Rondo 4x2.5 Speaker Cables to SDA 1Cs (Vr3 Mods Xovers and other mods.), Dreadnaught with Supra Rondo 4x2.5 interconnect cables by Vr3 Mods. Power for each component from dedicated 20 amp circuit to main panel, except Innuos Statement powered from Silver Circle Audio Pure Power One. -

When I priced up similar spec'd gear from the "other" guys it was nearly the same price as my MacBook. The price gap has come down IMO.
I also got a $100 price break on my Mac since I'm a student and a $100 gift card toward the App store...
I'm still on the fence about the Applecare since it will not cover accidental breakage and the most likely situation is my 2 year old getting her fingers on it and breaking something. But the extension on the warranty is sounding better and better. -

All of my other Apple stuff has been bullet proof: iPhone 4/4S/5 and an iPad 3. The 4S is over two years old and has been dropped in a pool, it still works perfectly. The iPad gets frequent use from my 2 year old and it has zero issue and it almost a year and a half old.
Were the hard drives in the computers you mentioned solid state drives by chance?
