Lism705's Whoa!
Just listened to these for the first time as they arrived this am. I purchased on Polk eBay. 1st cd, Dark Side of the Moon, 2nd Ellington at Newport, 3rd, Buddy Guy, Damm Right I Got the Blues, unbelievable. The mid's are the best I have ever owned. Close to the SDA 1's I had years back. Keep the sub on, really brings the sound fuller IMO. Just had to share. Back to the bat cave.

I have yet to hear them myself(DEMO pair out there anywhere???) but I have heard others say that these are the sweet spot of the new lineup. I hope to hear them one day soon, but for now I will live vicariously through your review, and remember, PICS or it never happened.

Great! Congratulations. I have been eyeing to get a pair of floor standing speakers for music. I wanted to limit my budget to 1500 max. Got some great suggestions over here on CP. Thanks guys.. But then I read quite a few positive feedback about LSiM705. Since I already have RTi A9s, I am kinda feeling to save up some more and get better option out there. I am sure LSIM705 are great. And may as well go for it.. But thanks for the review. I appreciate it.

Congrats on the new sonic bliss!
I am fortunate to have the entire LSiM lineup...all are amazing from top to bottom vs price/value.
I have my 705s in my HT due to the fact my sub could drive the lows and compliment the 705's. My 703's are my rears but I have listened to them alone and are really nice gems...Need to do more of this. But...I have been so out of control listening to my 707s and jumping back and forth to the HT and really enjoying my own sonic heaven that I have not spent the requisite time needed to truly listen and appreciate the 703s.
Have fun with the new system!

Rocket I am really liking your system for HT. I am kinda of crawling through all of this as I develop my first HT project and I would like to ask a few questions about what you've done as I go. I like the Oppo 95 Blue Ray player and I guess the first question is do you use this player for other media, like CD, DVD's, etc. Also do you run it through a DAC? I have a low end Cambridge DAC Magic 100 and would think I could still make use of it. Your M25 is really something I would like to strive for, but at 3.5k it's a bit steep especially with the pre amp you added. I have the NAD C375 BEE for my 2 channel music only system and would like to continue that. I thought about selling it to afford a higher end HT, but I really like the 325. So given the next step down for a HT 7.1 or a 5.1 what do you like. I'm thinking about 2K for the the amp and another 1k for a pre amp. I plan to go for the Lsim 706c and would like to use the Lsi 9's for the rears. Any comments on that idea? Any expendable cash left over, I will need for the divorce lawyer after my wife starts discovering my addiction. So there's those questions. Maybe more later if you would allow me to intrude I will try to not be a pest. Thanks in advance for any input.Regards, Bob

It's likely not in the best place as you see it's too close to the rt speaker. Not to many options in my rec room which is in the basement. I could move it over to the area near the left speaker, but would have to purchase another see of cables to do so. I am no expert on how it's suppose to sound. I like it ok, depends on how I set up the sub on it's menu, or how high I crank it. There is a volume control on the back of the NAD to allow me to do this without using the face controls. I'm still experimenting. I listened to the Beatles Help album this afternoon. Your Going To Lose That Girl (best break up song of all time IMO) and I heard some things in there that I never quite heard the same way in the past. Lennon sounded like he was standing next to me. I'm not a bass head, but it was rumbling pretty good. LOL. I am open to any and all ideas though. Thanks for the comment.Regards, Bob

Hi Bob, No problem would love to help if I can.
Yes I do use the Oppo for BR, CD, DVD. I will begetting some SACD at some point just been to busy to do it. I really like the oppo especially for it versatility. Its a solid well built system. I got the 95 to someday take advantage of the (DAQ)analog ability. I use the Marantz DAQ in the HT and I think(Not sure) have the Oppo DAQ hooked up to my 707s zone 2. With the 105 out etc...you may be able to score a 95 used at a reasonable price. I can tell you that the vets on the CP site led me down the path of looking for equip used. I am happy they did. I picked up the amp used...
M25
Cant say enough about this amp. Unreal. Love it! First, not to brag, but to support the effort tolook at used equip first. I scored this big dawg on Audiogon for $1,500!!! No one even bid on it! lol The guys who had it befor was trading up to McIntosh and I got it ata steal price. I believe you can find them around the $2,000 mark on line used. You def do not need to pay $3,500. Even new you can work some good deals at get in around the $26,2,800 range maybe even better. Hopefully a CP vet can give us better insight on this. This amp is superb in all aspects. Finesse or power...it rocks. I am amazed at the sound it produces especially in bass control at low volumes...and of course I love it when I go to +2-4 with it! The 707s handle it effortlessly as well. This amp has lots of reserve poet and head room. It is def conservatively rated.
The 9s for rears would be fine...they are not quite as important as your fronts. I have not listened to them personally but everything Ive read leads me to believe you would do just fine with them. i will let others who know more chirp in and give some advice on that. I def think at $2,00 Amp and $1,000 Pre you can get a very nice system that will shake your walls with quality sound. Shop atround, take your time. I researched for a year before i really made up my mind on everything...well worth it.
NAD C 375BEE is brand new for my deck. Sound great so far. This is a nice amp.
As far as what i like...I've got it. I am totally pleased with my system and use it every day...still trying different music on it. Having fun exploring!
I think you need to continue to do your homework and try and get a listen to a few diff amps etc to see if you can identify what YOU like. No one can substitute your ears. Narrow down your choices to three and then pull the trigger! lol
Keep in mind that these are just my opinions. There are people on the site that really know what they are talking about and they will certainly help you. Keep asking the questions.

Rocket thanks for you input. I was able to locate on Audiogon two components that would fit my budget. I won the bid for a MARANTZ UD 7006 7.1 UNIVERSAL DISC PLAYER at 700, that includes shipping. That's on it's way. There is a very nice nice NAD M25 that is being offered at 2400. I would bid lower so we will see how that works out. I know that the Oppo out ranks the Marantz, but for now it will be ok. So now I'm seeking a AV7005 Pre Amp or something very close. I think that model may have been replaced by now, but not absolutely sure. So there you are me stealing your creativity, but can't let good ideas go to waste. I'm sure that connecting all of what is to come will be an issue for me since this is the first real HT project that I have ever done. So if you had a NAD C375 BEE integrated amp as I how do, is there any way to make use of it with regards to the equipment that I have and will be purchasing. Also what type of cable are you using. I got mine from Blue Jean and it seems adequate, just wondered what your thoughts were about cable. Ok out now, thanks again. More updates later. Yes the sub is in the wrong place and haven't solved the placement problem as of yet.Regards, Bob

Congrats!
Not stealing..."Learning"...thats how I did it...ask questions get good answers, direction and advice from plenty of knowledgeable people at CP.
My advice is if you want the M25...find a better deal. Go ahead and low bid on that one but I think you can find it at a better price.
Not sure about the AV7005 being replaced. that just came out a couple of years ago...need to look into it.
I do have the 375 Integrated...I use it just for my deck speakers. Its a 2 channel system....I will let someone else recommend how you might be able to utilize it in HT. Keep in mind, if you score a M25...you will be all set... 7.1
I use Signal cable. Excellent value for the $. Frank is great at helping you math up what you want and need. However, I'm sure you are aware of the cable wars that are presented on CP. If not, search the threads. Do your homework and learn as much as you can. Ive heard good things about Blue Jean as well....kinda a subjective area as to weather your ears can hear the differences between diff cable at diff price points...etc...
I can tell you that I absolutely love my system. Had "Battleship" on today and cranked it! Shook the house to the foundation with crystal clear HT sound....bliss.... :>)HOME THEATER 5.1

Well my offer on the M25 was rejected and I didn't want to go any higher. I have decided on the Marantz 7007 and the Marantz 7006 Blue Ray/DVD/cd player. Currently I am putting everything in place. I have the Samsung Plasma being delivered tomorrow. So today doing a kit install for hanging the tv. I continue to use Blue Jean as they seem durable/flexable and it seems like no weld. I replaced the rear LSi 9's with the LSIm 703's so the it will match the impedance of the Marantz. That AV amp does not serve a 4ohm speaker which is what the LSi 9 is. Excited about having the 706c and decided to keep Polk as my entire speaker 5.1. For now I have what I need to assemble the system. I will stay with the Marantz AV Amp, but someday may do a separate power/pre amp set up. Yes I intend to keep the 375, I really like the the sound created by that amp for a two channel system. So should be able to post some pics in about a week or so. Thanks for your input.Regards, Bob

Just today, I too got a pair of 705's and I'll second the comment of WHOA ! I did some listening this afternoon and so far I have to say that they are a very, very pleasant sounding loudspeaker. Very pleased and highly recommended. I will be posting my LSi15's for sale very shortly. -
