So I had another thread where you guys recommended the polk rtia7 and I was et on those until I found out about the infinity.

Here is what is bothering me, I am trying to justify the cost vs. what I am getting.

I can get the polk for

RTiA7 - $720 / pair
RTIA6 - $355
FXIA6 - $335

Total - $1410

Infinity frys deal

P363- $244
P363 $244 surround 9 use as surround as well as the stands would cost for the bookshelves)
c351 - $200

Total - $688

I am happy with my HTIB, so wouldn't I be satisfied with the infinity which comes out cheaper. I will also add sub and the reviews say that it will be able to fill large space.

I know this is a polk forum, but do any of you have any experience with the p363 speakers.

Head to Frys and check it out to see if your getting new speakers or floor models.. They had LSi on sale weeks ago and I remember people saying at the end all they had were beat up floor models.

No idea how they sound but I guess they are 3 way speakers that remind me of the LSiM with its small mid range driver near the tweeter.

You won't know until you listen for yourself; so going to Frys is a good suggestion. If the Infinitys sound to you just as good as you can't justify the extra cost of the Polks, there's your answer!

You could save some coin on Polk's eBay store (refurbished) if you don't mind slightly different models.

    I got these:
    Pair of rti10's (similar to rtia7) for 658 & rti5 (similar to rtia6) for 225.

According to some folks, however, the rti's and rtia's sound different even though they have (presumably) identical circuitry. Different body styling, though. I have no frame of reference as I haven't listened to either one, yet.

The price is bothering you right now but after you settle for the cheaper ones, your "What if's" will bother you later on. Got to love the upgrade bug.

You can't be that happy otherwise you wouldn't be in the market for new speakers, right?

So what do you plan on using to drive whatever speakers you buy?

Hopefully it won't be the receiver from the HTIB.

The Polk system your looking at will fill a larger room with sound. If you have a HTIB now and your room is on the smaller side it may be over kill for you. Also the costs of a good receiver might be something you haven't figured on either. Since your currently happy with your HTIB, maybe best to wait on buying anything and do more home work, save a few more coins.

I heard the 1st gen amd thought they were just "ok" but I hear these are better. I really want to listen to this newer line.

I say go listen to the Polks, the Infinitys, and the JBL Studios and let your ears decide. How often do you buy speakers?

You could save some coin on Polk's eBay store (refurbished) Got my Monitors from Polk E Bay store & they were brand spanking new in the original packing. Probably just overstock. My experience with the Polk on line store has been extremely positive.

stop focusing on price and start focusing on sound. If you can get your ears on them choose the one that you like the sound of the most.
