I like to golf and even watch golf. I had worked at a world class golf course for a few years or so....... I am far far far from a golf guru, player or knowledgeable about announcing but...........................

When I sit here and hear the announcers drool and say the dumbest f-ing things I have to wonder what they must think of themselves. Do they know or care they sound like dumbasses? It really should be embarrassing but I guess they really don't care. I am sure even Woods himself laughs a lot when he hears how they make stupid comments about him. To me it's not Woods fault the announcers are trying to make things exciting by saying dumb things and that's not what golf is really all about. Just watch the legend of bagger vance :

I'd really love to see Couples win as do most of the golf fans I bet.

If you want to get excited about the game, be there in person. The course is beautiful this year.

It's so easy, a 14 year old can do it.

That shot on 15 by Tiger was really unfortunate. It's gonna be hard to recover from that...

Golf is a spectator sport. A dangerous spectator sport. At least the way my sons and I play it.
I think I actually killed a lhama one time at the golf driving range a couple of years ago. True story.
    You've been warned.

I went to the PGA Championship in 2011. When we first got there, we just walked around and found a spot on the course. I still remember the first shot. We were about 250 yards out on a par 5. We were standing about 5 feet into the rough behind a little yellow rope. When the guys were on the tee box, it was like they were literally aiming at us.

I was like whoa...you sure this is where we are supposed to be standing?

We stayed at that first spot for about an hour and watched shot after shot whiz by us and land perfectly in the fairway just beyond our location. After that experience, I now know why those spectators on TV are so close to the action area. Those folks are just that good.

FWIW...I enjoy playing golf, but watching it is very enjoyable as well.

If you can watch the Master's and not get excited about playing then you are not a golfer. I'd much rather play then watch any old tournament but the major's,Ryder Cup,etc. just gets the blood boiling. I'm really hoping to play alot more this year. Just bought a couple dozen Callaway Hex Blacks,Bridgestone Tour B330-RXS and Titleist NXT Tour S. Can't wait for this crappy Northern Illinois weather to clear up so I can tee it up.

Who give's a damn about the announcers.

The thing I like about the Master's is the respect the locals give to the visiting celebrities. There is no telling who will show up. Connie Rice (with her green jacket on) was greeting patrons. Johnny Depp eating at Zackby's Fried Chicken. Everyone is here to have fun. It's a lot more than golf.

LOL.....I hear ya man. Once I shanked a 5 iron so bad, it hit the valve on the front tire of the golf cart. PSSSSS....flat in no time. What are the frickin' chances of that ?

Speaking of golf, I want to know who are the knuckleheads that buy a house on a golf course, especially on the dog leg holes, then put a swingset out there. Huh ??? I must have broken more windows on dog legs trying to cut the corner than I care to admit. Playing golf with me is like a Caddyshack adventure.

If you didn't think so before I really am a dumb ****. I had a few opportunities when I lived in NJ to play and passed them up.

One of a few things in life so far I regret.

Then the question becomes who is responsible for the damage. When you hit a passing car who is truly responsible. I did hit a parked car once upon a time. I just hit another ball and played more to the left and moved on rather quickly. It did cross my mind if it was my car I hit and that would have been karma.
