Media Mail shipping unless you want Priority Mail which is fine with me, I already have some Priority Mail boxes. I also have about six padded envelopes which will accept two cd's max for Media Mail. Additionally, I purchased a bunch of small boxes at Staples for Media Mail shipping. If I use one of those to accommodate your order, it's another buck and a half on top of the Media Mail. I figure Media Mail will be about $3 for the first title, and maybe a quarter or fifty cents for each additional title. I can't remember from when I did this before. We can work it out.

Do not PM me with your selections, please post them right here.

Frank Zappa – Hot Rats (Rykodisc RCD10066) $5

Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention – Cruising with Ruben & The Jets (Rykodisc RCD10063, I have always enjoyed this album which most people take as a parody of doo wop. Many of these songs here were on the first album Freak Out, but done in a much more true R&B fashion, as opposed to the doo wop versions we get here. Let’s face it, the original Mothers were really just a spiffy five-piece, R&B combo, and I think he couldn’t figure out why some of the Freak Out songs didn’t become chart hits. Songs like “You Didn’t Try To Call Me”, How Could I Be Such A Fool”, I’m Not Satisfied”, “Anyway the Wind Blows”, I Ain’t Got No Heart To Give Away”, and the first rap song ever, “Trouble Every Day”. The Freak Out album suffered from some stupid stuff like ‘Wowie Zowie” and “You’re Probably Wondering Why I’m Here” along with a couple sides of unlistenable noise. Also interesting on Ruben & The Jets is maybe his first sex song, “Jelly Roll Gum Drop” which was probably written in response to Captain Beefheart’s earlier wicked effort, “Kandy Korn”.

Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention – We’re Only In It For The Money (Rykodisc RCD10503, a truly dated effort, not much groundbreaking stuff here but plenty of anti-hippie/phony/establishment/your mom & dad social commentary. High points for me are “Let’s Make The Water Turn Black”, “Flower Punk”, “Who Needs the Peace Corps”, and right in the middle of the song “Mother People” about ½ a minute of some of the most beautiful orchestral work I ever heard.) $5

Zappa’s Universe – Zappa’s Universe (14 track Verve 314 513 575 2 tribute to The Maestro. Nice trib, especially The Persuasions, but it’s not Frank. And does anybody else feel that Steve Vai should play impossible guitar parts where it is impossible to hear him?

    ZZ Top – Eliminator (WB 9 23774 2) $3

Miles Davis is long gone. The Jazz Masters set is still here, but it is also the only selection ordered by ZLTFUL that still I have. We need to see what he wants to do first. Thanks, I appreciate it.

I can't believe that Hendrix Blues lasted as long as it did.

CDs received yesterday, and I'm already enjoying them as I sit here and type this!
