I've been using the Elk antlers & Miya loves 'em. They're a bit pricey from the local pet store but they outlast any Nyla bone by a huge margin. Miya is a pit mix & boy can she chew. The antler is one tough, all natural chew that dogs just love. If you haven't tried them yet I suggest you do. I'll have to check on line for them for future purchases.

I don't think my Chihuahua would like them. Too big for him. He only likes the mini bones.

Maybe a toe nail would do the trick. LOL!

My JRT is fanatical about elk antlers.

My dogs love them! If they are cut down the middle of the antler it's easier for them to knaw the bone marrow out of them. They don't like them as well if they are not cut.

They make small ones from the tips, but you actually don't want to get them too small because there is a risk of impact fractures to their teeth if they can easily bite down on it.

The dogs will drag sheds in from the hills around the house and you are right, when the farrier comes to shoe the horses, you can't keep the dogs away.

Might have to try those, both my pug/boston (Bella) and pug/chihuahua (Teddy) mix are POWER chewers, so I have been giving them only nylabones. Can't give them rawhide, because they'll eat the whole thing in 30 minutes!

Wha? If you have a real pile (like a few hundred pounds) you might consider talking to a custom knife maker or goose call turner. Those antlers have an incredible value. I sold one set last year, 147" B and C that was shed (a little grey but not bad) for 50 bucks. The kids are searching this year for sheds to make summer money.
    Too much **** to list....

They do work great, and my Border Collie mix has chewed on one for the last two years.

Kangaroo tails, packaged and sold in Australia. My stepson sent me a couple last year. My Staffie and Pit mix sinffed 'em, had an expression of WTF? and then proceeded to demolish them.
