That was very interesting. You can see why it costs more to make tubes than transistors.

Very informative! I've never heard of KR tubes. From the video they look to be entirely hand made - anyone know how they sound?

FWIW, all tubes are hand made. They aren't punched out on an assembly line.

Glad you guys enjoyed it. After seeing the amount of work go into producing them, I give big phat props to the new production companies for keeping the price fairly low.

    Wow, thanks!
I really enjoyed that. The narration has a nostalgic feel like I was watching some cool science film in school when I was a kid.

lol. That's why I enjoy the show. The presentation is so simple and old school. Reminds me of high school science class as well.

I would love to see a series like this covering a range of topics around audio and maybe video. I could use a better technical understanding of hi-fi.

They did quite a few segments on electronics. Just search you tube. Type something like 'how it's made', and speakers, tv, lcd, etc. I know they have quite a few on speakers. One was for car audio and the other I believe was Martin Logan.

Watch that show frequently & have seen those episodes before. Though the puns & cliches spewed by the narrator make me want to reach through the TV & strangle him.
