Just spoke with Jessica at polk and ordered my LSi 15's (ebony), should be here by the end of the week! Going to run them on my TFM-35 via the pre-outs on my Yamaha RX-A820. Looking forward to doing the woofer upgrade asap. Thanks again for all those who provided helpful input in making my new speaker choice.

Yes there is , just do a search and you will find it. The woofer you want is the Polk DB840 (single voice coil), pretty much a drop in, the trick is getting the speaker grills off and making sure you get the woofers sealed well and use better screws when you install them. AMazon has the woofers for $57 each currently.

Congrats. Been wanting to do the db840 upgrade for awhile and haven't pulled the trigger. I think I better order the subs before they disappear. Knowing my luck. $50+ on amazon as well.

I personally wouldnt venture outside what is recommended by Polk engineers myself.

Also as an FYI, while your in there you might want to dynamat the port tube as well as its just cardboard.

Just so happens I have a case of Dynamat Extreme left over from my truck install. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm another in the camp of waiting to pull the trigger. More worried about messing something up as I've never opened a speaker before, but the thread makes it seem easy.

I would probably dynamat also, just now sure where it goes or how much to get?

Easy, you just cut it and stick it around the port, it's kinda like a thick tape with a rubber layer under the foil side. SOme also suggest adding it to the woofer frame as well. Any local car audio shop should have enough scraps of it to give away for free or I'll be glad to send you some.

Most important part is that you wrap it around the OUTSIDE of the port, not the inside (which would restrict the diameter of it ). Its a ridiculously easy product to use.

The woofer upgrade is very easy, hardest part is going slow to get the grill off without scratching or flaking the wood vener on the panel.

Lsi 15's arrived today in fine shape except for one pair of missing feet which Polk says they will send me if they have any (backorder). Got them hooked up to the HT system via the Yamaha RX-A820 and running power off the Carver M-1.0t, they sound great so far. Between my kids football game, Radney Foster concert tonight, University of Texas season opener tomorrow (Hook'em) and other commitments it looks like Sunday will be my first chance to really tinker with them. Dire Straits/Dire Straits was the first disc I played on them and it was sweet. Thanks for the tips and advice amigos, have a great holiday weekend!

I just got a pair of LSi15s from Polk Audio Direct. They are really great, and was wondering if the db840 upgrade is really worth it. Your thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks!

    In a word, YES!

Try Crutchfield. They often have buy one, get one 1/2 price. It's super easy to install and it really adds to the low end. It's not going to be like you added a subwoofer or anything, but it's a little bit tighter, deeper bass. Not a night and day difference, but noticeable.
