I never thought I'd own speakers in this price range, but I threw out a crazy offer on a pair the popped up for sale locally and to my surprise the seller accepted. They're mint too. These are Stereophile Class A speakers and one of the only speakers to blow my mind in an audition in the past several years, and that was when I auditioned their little brothers, the Synchrony Two's.

I'm super excited and will be bringing them home next week! As we say here in Socal, I'm super stoked

congrats! I've always wanted to sit down in front of a pair. I saw the ad, and the price they had was a steal as it was! I expect a full report and pics!

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

I have had a pair now around 3-4 years in my two channel system. They are great. I have spent the last few years upgrading my cables and power, and each upgrade the PSBs revealed more detail. These speakers have cost me a lot of money in cable (IC, speaker, power) and power conditioner upgrades, but it has been money well spent.

A few years ago I upgraded my LSiC to the PSB Synchrony One center, and that also is great.

    You will love these speakers.

Two weeks ago I upgraded my PSBs to a pair of Aerial Acoustics 7T, and moved the Synchrony One into the HT, surround sound system. They replaced my LSi15s in the front, and have moved that system up a notch on the audio scale.

    Enjoy your new toys.
Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes

Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables

Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
    Three 20 amp circuits.

Sweet on the Areials, A long time admirer, how did the psb's hold up against them?

They are still breaking in. The dealer said around 200 hours, and gave me 60 days to return them if I do not like them. I will do a review in a week or so. However, so far, the Aerials are to the PSBs as the PSBs are to the LSi15s. The same, but obviously better in the details, sound stage, etc.

I love my PSBs. They are great speakers. I hope the OP has gear to do them justice since they will reveal all detail in the music.

Indeed, a good set of speakers compels one to spend and spend to restore order to the balance of the system whole, it has taken me almost a year and a half to balance things out, new amp, cables, source and acoustics. don't get me wrong I enjoyed every minute of it and was well worth the time and money. I look forward to the review!

Thanks guys! I couldn't be more excited. I'll be sure to check in with a review, although it might be awhile because I had to sell my preamp to fund the purchase :(

Head over to Saturday Audio since you're in Chicago, they're a PSb dealer and very likely have these set up to listen to.

Can I ask what you paid?

I picked up a pair of PSB G Design GT1s recently for my gf for $265 off CL and still can't get over what a great deal I got. They sound and look amazing.

Great deal on the Synchrony Ones.

I wandered in a Pacific Coast Sales 2 days ago since that was where the seller of the PSB GT1s said he bought his. They still had a pair, on sale as demos for $800 ea. Synchrony Ones are more than one step up from these, of course.

Great deal. The retail on these speakers has actually went up since they were first introduced in 2007, and are $5500 at Crutchfield. I highly recommend getting some outriggers from Oregondv or Soundocity for these speakers since they don't have plinths. Helped tighten up the bass and protects them from tipping.

I put mine on 4" maple blocks from Mapleshade. The sound really came into focus when they were added.

    Any updates?

I don't have a proper preamp right now (I sold it to get these) so I've been using the volume control on the back of my amp to listen to em' which is a pain in the ****. I will make a bold statement and say that my speaker search has ended. That's not to say I'll never buy another pair of speakers again, but I will say that I've found a speaker that truly does it all and leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. Their is nothing about these speakers that I don't like. They're wonderful and easy to listen to but at the same time have such incredible resolution. The sound stage is awesome. They absolutely disappear and draw you in.

Their is a song called "Try a little tenderness" that's covered by Michael Buble on his "It's time" album that starts out with a string section. I've played this song on every pair of speakers I've owned in the last 5 years and none of them were able to make the strings in this particular song come alive. I purposely play this small intro on the song to hear how a speaker does with a string section. I began to think that the recording just didn't have the information to make the strings come alive & sound real & natural or maybe that the engineer wanted it to sound thick and kind of muddy. Playing the song on the Synchrony One's changed my mind. Oh the information was their all right. I just never had a speaker that could articulate it.

You'd think because it could articulate this that it was a speaker that was one-dimensional. They're absolutely not. They sound phenomenal with all sorts of music and with movies. I can't find a single thing wrong with them. No shrill highs, no fatigue, no lack of bass, no forward mids, no lack of definition in the mid bass range, just so balanced and voiced so wonderfully. I can't wait to get some tubes on them. Speaking of tubes, electric guitar sounds soooo dead on with these speakers. I played some Stevie Ray Vaughn on them and it sounded like his amp was sitting on the floor in front of me. If you're a musician you'd know what I'm talking about. Hard to explain, but cool.

I took pictures and I'll get them up later. I have a Pass DCB1 buffer coming in early next week to be used as my preamp and I can't wait to hear it in the system. These speakers really do have it all and it's nice not to have one ounce of dislike about a speaker in any area, they're that good.

    Hi BlueFox

This thread is old (and I can't PM you), but I am interested in both the Synchrony Ones and the Aerial 7Ts. I tried searching for your review on the 7Ts but no luck. Can you point me to it or give me an update having lived with them for a while compared to the Ones?

    Thanks!
