FXI A6 OR RTI A3 for side surrounds paired along with FXI 30's for rear surround?
Well, more questions, LOL. I am replacing all of my speakers, except for my rear FXI 30 surrounds. The front stage is decided, RTI A9's mains and CSI A6 center. I will keep the FXI 30's for rear surround. Should I get RTI A3's for the side surround or the FXI A6's? The issue is that my sofa is backed into a wall. The rear FXI 30's are mounted way high up near the roof on the back wall. I was using RTI 38's for side surrounds, hence I had decided on the RTI A3's for the side surrounds, but now wonder if I should get the FXI A6's? I had done a test previously and had the FXI 30's on the side with the RTI 38's on the back, but it did not sounds that good. I then replaced the RTI 38's to the side, and the FXI 30's to the rears, and they sounded better suited for the environment. Does this mean that I should get the A3's for the sides and keep the FXI 30's up top, or should I get the FXI A6 for the sides to go with the FXI 30 on the rear?

I would run the FXI A6's on the sides and sell the FXI30's. If you dont have the proper room or lay out for a 7 channel surround system then just run a 5 channel setup.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808

Try mounting your FXi30's no more then 2ft above seated ear level. You may have them mounted to high.Anaheim Hills CA,

Thanks Guys. You are correct. I will probably get the FXI A6 for the sides, and place the FXI 30's lower from the roof. Since the sofa has to be backed against the wall, due to the size of the room, The side surrounds are on a 36-inch Sanus stand, and the wall is directly behind the sofa, so I will lower the FXI 30's.
