How do I replace the amplifier on my PSW 505?

My new sub's amp broke so customer service sent me a new one. I took off the screws and pulled the amp out of the back, only to find that the two power cords that go to the driver are out of sight and reach behind walls in the box, making it impossible to disconnect them and replace the amp. What do I do? Do I take off the foam screw protector around the cone and take the driver out or do I have to un-solder the cords and solder them back on the new one?

    Welcome to club polk!

I'm not sure what you're asking, but there should be a red and white speaker cable running from the amp to the speaker. If you can't reach in and disconnect it from the speaker, then removing the speaker is easy. Simply unscrew the screws holding in the speaker, then pop out the speaker and disconnect the speaker wires that should be connected with tabs. Should be a pretty simple job.

    Good luck!
