Hello All.

Sooo..., my 51FD, as good as it is for what I need, is starting to have issues, the same as I've read on-line recently about these players. Freeze ups, no picture but still has sound, yada, yada. You would think with the price these things were that they would last.

Anyway, researching new BD players I have found only two in my price range (around $500), the Oppo 93 and the Cambridge Audio. While researching on-line I have been reading about the above Yamaha player.

I would very much like to buy a new Onkyo as I've never had a bad one, in anything, ever. For me, anyway, Onkyo equipment has always ran and ran. I "thought" I was having an issue with my old 555 DVD player but turned out to be moot (an electrical spike took care of it, along with half the house, long story). I can't find a new/used 807 BD player, the last one they made with analog outputs.

That being said Onkyo doesn't have any new players with 7.1/5.1 analog outputs. My one must have seeing as my old Onkyo 787 receiver doesn't have HDMI but does an excellent job with analog inputs. I also have no need for 3D but a separate two channel output would be a plus.

Anyone have one, opinions?

I looked up that Sony, seems to have reliability issues. Never been a big fan of Sony, don't know why really. They're ES stuff is nice, or used to be as far as I know.

I'm not really a big fan of Yahama either. However, my wife's mom has an older Yammi system, around 10-13 years old or so, and it all still works. BUT, that was 10-13 years ago, maybe things have changed in the quality department?

No one at all has any experience with this one? How about the BD-A1000? Some say it's about the same unit as the 1010.
