Hey all,
I'm in on a fleabay auction for a Sunfire TGA-5400.
What's the current going rate on them?
Should I even be looking at this amp?
I've also been looking for a B&K or other older Sunfire amp; I've concentrating on the signature series - I've read they tend to be worth the extra cost compared to the standard series cinemas.
Will be installed in an enclosed cabinet.
Room is 18 x 20 with hardwood floors, open wall on one side, several area rugs.
Speakers: I'm running an RT5000 system right now.
Preamp/Processor: I have been using a B&K Reference 50 to this point, but I just received a Sunfire TGP V, which I've not yet installed.
Listening will be 80/20 music/HT.
What do you think?

Go for it. I love my Sunfire amp, it will run just about any speaker out there and will keep you happy for a long time to come.

That's a good amp. Other suggestions would be the Parasound HALO A51, or JC1 monoblocks. You would need five HALO JC1 for a 5.1 setup though.

    polkaudio 255c-RT Inwalls
    polkaudio DSWPro550WI
    polkaudio XRT12 XM Tuner
    polkaudio RM6750 5.1

Front projection, 2 channel, car audio... life is good!

Monoblocks are further down the road in my evolutionary cycle I think - probably never make it to that point I guess

I like my 2 channel Sunfire and have heard great things about the 5 channel models.

I don't know the going rate though. Good luck winning it.

The other models mentioned get great reviews everywhere.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

I hate it when people list something then cancel the auction because the early bids don't meet their expectations.
It was no reserve for goodness sake, now it's a new listing with a $1,600 opening bid.
