My audio rack is a Bell'o metal w glass shelves.. instead of putting two amps on shelves ..I thought to be safe ,take out the bottom two shelves and set a 2 x 19 x 20 board on the carpet and stack two amps on top of each other? XPA-3 weighs about 57 pounds and XPA-2 weighs about 75 pounds. They seem to run cool and frame seems to hold lighter amp w no problems? Please give me some help to solve the problem or let me know the negatives to this set up ? As always , thank you. Darryl

The restricted air flow for the bottom unit would be my concern with stacking one on the other.

My other concern would be static electricity being so close to the carpet. A board I assume, as one made for shelving is only going to be a half inch thick, and depending on the type of carpet, makes static a concern in my book. Wouldn't stack them ontop of each other either. Sometimes as a makeshift stand, some thick bricks and an old solid maple cutting board of good size can suffice.

VTI Amp stand would be nice. If you can make something similar, you could save a few bucks

IIRC, Emo's run almost cold so I don't think it would be an issue. To the OP, try it and see. If it gets too toasty then you need to find another solution.

Found a metal amp stand type of frame work at work in the metal recycling bin. Just need to paint it black and mount a board on top of it. Contacted Emotiva and they said it would be ok to set lighter amp on other one. Just check it for excess heat when used at max loudness for extended periods . Thank you all for the great advice.
